0027. | NADIA'S CHAOS IS
IGNITED IN FIRES

          "Giant!" Jason bellowed.

His voice was commanding and terrifying, like Enceladus was allowed no choice but to listen to the call. Which was good because Nadia didn't want to bring any attention to her. That was Athena's plan - to be invisible because Enceladus could be a fool. But Nadia had to make him a fool. She had to be smarter, even if that meant playing to be weaker.

Her and Jason stood side by side to face Enceladus whilst Piper crept around to her father and Leo snuck off. Jason's golden javelin glittered in the sunlight and made him look strong in comparison to Nadia and her whip that she had unfurled. No magic, she told herself, not until the time is right.

Enceladus's booming laughter filled the clearing and he grinned with horridly sharp teeth like an animal. "Well," he said, his voice loud and clear. "what a nice surprise."

Nadia raised her chin indignantly as did Jason but their pride and strength was diminished by Coach Hedge wanting to be involved (of course). "Let the movie star go, you big ugly cupcake! Or I'm gonna plant my hoof right up your-!"

"Coach, shut up." Jason chastised him. Nadia didn't speak. She didn't want to, instead she stayed silent and let Enceladus think that Jason was the threat.

Enceladus laughed once again and the bonfire shook. "I've forgotten how funny satyrs are. When we rule the world, I think I'll keep your kind around. You can entertain me while I eat all the other mortals."

"Is that a compliment?" Coach Hedge murmured with a frown. "I don't think that was a compliment."

Nadia braced her whip, the snake agitating at the lack of fighting. She swallowed her fear.

Enceladus roared suddenly, his mouth glowing golden with heat as Leo yelled. "Scatter!"

Jason and Coach Hedge jumped right, Nadia jumped left. She rolled, landing on her hands and knees out of the line of the column of fire Enceladus had burst from his jaws.

Jason rose from across the clearing to fight and so did Coach Hedge, flapping his jacket that had caught on fire. "I liked that outfit!" He shouted, raising his club to strike at the giant.

Nadia got to her feet hastily, retracting her whip so it didn't stray too far. Her heart was beating through her chest. She had never been so scared in her life.

Hestia's words rang in her ears that she wasn't fireproof. She gulped.

Enceladus didn't pause. He raised his lance and smashed it against the ground so hard that the entire mountain shook. Nadia was thrown off of her feet again and sent sprawling backwards.
