0014. | LEO FINDS HIS
SOULMATE IN A SEWER

They reached Chicago a lot faster than Nadia had suspected, or maybe she had just been unconscious for long enough that they had travelled so far. But it at least gave her time to think on what Hera had said to Jason.

Nadia was scared for her future. Hera had said that a demigod with a god's blessing could have the power to defeat a giant and that scared her to death. Not because she wasn't sure if she had that power, but because she was sure. After Demeter's visit, Nadia was sure her chaos was enough to hurt something. The storm spirits at the Grand Canyon weren't even a whisper of what she could do even though she had fainted. It wasn't really her exertion of power that had tired her, it was restraining the potential of it.

She hadn't wanted to hurt anyone. Not really.

Especially not her friends. Well... that was a whole other train of thought. Was Leo her friend? Of course. He had never been anything but her friend yet still she couldn't forget the way he made her feel. She had never felt this way before. She wasn't even sure what her feelings were but she knew they were more than friendship for Leo.

She wanted to look into his mind, to read his thoughts about her (if there were even any at all) but she resisted the temptation. She didn't want to betray his trust and if that meant that she would settle with knowing that he only thought of her as a friend then so be it.

So for that moment with his arms wrapped around her, she savoured it, enjoying how his head rested against hers and his dark curls had grown long and brushed into her eye but she didn't mind. She liked being close with him.

"Maybe we should follow that storm spirit and see where it goes?" Jason interrupted her thoughts, having caught sight of a Ventus for them to follow to lead them through Chicago to where they needed to go.

Leo nodded, moving his head from hers and snapping on Festus's reins to speed him up but it was difficult. The storm spirit was really fast.

          "Speed up!" Jason yelled.

"Bro," Leo grunted. "if I get any closer, he'll spot us. Bronze dragon ain't exactly a stealth train." He was yanking on Festus's reins trying to steer him away from smashing into buildings but it wasn't working too well.

"Slow down!" Piper screamed, grabbing onto Jason as they screeched around a corner.

The wind spirit had ducked between the buildings making it difficult to follow with Festus's wingspan unless they destroyed the city. "Get above the buildings," Jason suggested. "we'll track him from there."

"You want to drive this thing?" Leo grumbled but did as he said, flying Festus above the building tops. Suddenly as they were watching, another wind spirit joined the one they were following. They knocked over pedestrians as they went.
