"I'm completely in love
with you and you haven't
even realised but I'm totally
fine with the crippling
knowledge that you don't like
me back. That's fine, I'm fine.
Totally fine."

0007. | PIPER GETS THE WRONG IMPRESSION
Nadia awoke to the sound of smashing. Alot of smashing. "Oh! Oo! Gods! Ow!" It was Leo (of course). Nadia opened her eyes and saw Leo rubbing his head, surrounded by a pile of metal scraps and dust and hammers. She sat up, crushing some scrunches of paper under her body that looked like scrapped blueprints. "You're up!" Leo exclaimed, another metal plate falling onto his head that Leo ignored. Nadia giggled at him groggily, fighting a yawn.
Only then, when her eyes cleared, did she realise where they were. They were no longer in the pit where she must have drifted off, but they were in this massive hangar that looked like she was trapped in Leo's dream house. She was right about what she was laying on, they were in fact failed blueprints balled up but it looked like the comfiest place in the room. Every other surface looked sharp or flat or pointy or a furnace.
"How did you...?" Nadia began but Leo finished, hopping up on the work table next to her.
"I'm a big, strong son of Hephaestus now, Di." He puffed out his chest and tensed his skinny arms in a way that made her cheeks warm and her face grin tiredly. "Festus might have helped a bit." He admitted.
At the sound of its name, the giant dragon came sweeping from the shadows of the bunker now with wings and a shiny bronze polish. "You fixed him?" Nadia shouted, all tiredness leaving her as she rushed over to the dragon to pet it. "And you called him Happy?" She awed. "That's so cute! I love it!" She stroked Festus's head as the dragon sent Leo a look like you owe me.
Leo nodded, scratching the back of his neck as he joined Nadia, walking over to a worktable first by a furnace to grab something. "Yep," he cracked his back. "stayed up half the night fixing this little guy, and the other half exploring this place."
"It's so pretty." Nadia said and it probably wasn't a usual expression for a mechanic bunker but Nadia liked it because it felt like Leo. The room matched his aura so well it almost disappeared from her sights and it felt welcoming to her, like it knew who she was.
She blushed under the look Leo gave her - like he knew she would be excited about it too. "That's what I thought!" He cried and Festus started to wag his tail to join in with their excitement, knocking over a pile of screwdrivers. "I knew you'd get it." He said quieter, looking into her eyes, searching for a lingering moment from the night before.
Nadia smiled softly and Leo melted.
"I made you something," Leo cleared his throat, pulling up the item he had grabbed from the worktable by the furnace. Nadia paused her hand from scratching Festus's head to give Leo all her attention. Nadia loved presents, and Leo knew that. He also knew that she loved his presents the best so did his best to fulfil that.
