Toni slowly opened her eyes, yawning before looking around the room. As she came to her senses she realised it was still dark, a ray of moonlight gleaming through the window, the room appearing to be a dark shade of blue.
As she silently grabbed her phone to look at the time, she heard quiet sobs coming from behind her. Toni wondered for a few seconds what exactly was going on before she could feel a nudge in her back, followed by a hand grabbing her side tightly.
Toni turned around, so she came to lay face to face with her girlfriend. She looked at Cheryl, who still had her eyes closed, admiring her sleeping beauty for a moment. However, Toni immediately noticed Cheryl wasn't looking like she was at peace, a few drops of sweat were forming on her forehead and she was softly mumbling in her sleep.
Toni took a few minutes to look at Cheryl before deciding to wake her up, since she kept turning and moving. "Hey baby, wake up, it's just me", Toni said, moving her hand from Cheryl's shoulder to her cheek, carefully stroking her thumb against her skin.
Cheryl awoke with a jolt, a moan escaping from her mouth, as she innocently looked up into Toni's eyes. "Hey, it's okay, I just-
Toni tried to say but got interrupted by a cry coming from Cheryl, "Omg baby, what's wrong?" Toni said, tucking a few red locks behind Cheryl's ear, a concerned expression painted on her face.
"Oww TT, it hurts...so bad", Cheryl said through her sobs, trying to sit up straight.
Toni pulled the sheets from Cheryl's sweating body when she realised what had happened. She flicked on the light on her nightstand, before returning to Cheryl. Dark colored stains were covering the bedsheets underneath her girlfriend, who was now breathing heavily, holding her stomach. "Oh shit baby", Toni said thinking about what she had done. Perhaps waking Cheryl had made things worse, now that she was fully conscious.
Cheryl had always experienced heavy and painful periods ever since she was a teenager. Her mother selfishly never cared about her daughter and left Cheryl to her own devices.
This fortunately changed when Toni came into the picture. She always took care of Cheryl whenever she went through one of her more painful days of the month.
"I'm sorry Toni, I usually get a warning, this wasn't supposed to happen", Cheryl looked down as she felt embarrassed for the mess she had made.
"Cher, it's okay, it's not your fault baby". Toni gently caressed Cheryl's back as another painful wave hit her girlfriend, a few tears rolling down her cheeks as she was whimpering in pain.
"It's gonna be okay Cheryl, I promise, this will all be over soon", Toni said, tying Cheryl's hair back in a bun. "I think we should clean you up first babe, because I'm not leaving you here sitting in your own blood."
Cheryl just nodded.
Toni placed her hands underneath Cheryl's back and legs, slowly lifting her up from the bed. She could feel her girlfriend's body shiver in her arms as she steadily walked towards the bathroom. Toni placed Cheryl on the edge of the bathtub, feeling sick to her stomach herself to see her girlfriend in so much pain. She kneeled down in front of Cheryl, who was still crying, holding her cheek for a moment, "I'm so sorry Cher".
As Toni carefully undressed Cheryl, she looked at her panties, they were soaked with blood. Toni slipped them down Cheryl's legs and put them in the sink. "I'm sorry Toni, it's so gross", Cheryl said holding Toni's arm with one hand for support as the other remained on her stomach.
"Cher, there is nothing gross about your period, it's completely natural, so don't degrade yourself", Toni said as she helped Cheryl get into the bathtub. "And you know I'm always here for you and I don't care how long we sit here, as long as I can be there for you".
"I know TT", Cheryl said as she sat down with her back against the edge of the tub. After adjusting the water temperature, Toni placed a gentle kiss on Cheryl's forehead.
Toni kneeled down next to the tub, she looked at her girl who was still very much in pain, genuinely feeling so sorry for her. "Oww Toni please", Cheryl cried out as another painful cramp hit her.
"Oh baby, it's okay, keep breathing, it's going to be okay", Toni's heart ached for her girlfriend as she looked at her with tears in her eyes. "Is it okay if I just quickly clean you up babe, so we can get you to a more comfortable place".
Cheryl nodded as she wiped away the tears on her cheeks, slightly opening her legs for Toni to have better access.
Toni washed off the blood stains from Cheryl's lower abdomen, her legs and private part with her hands. There was nothing sexual about washing her girlfriend's more delicate parts, it had to be done and neither of them seemed to care much.
Eventually Toni turned off the water and helped Cheryl get out of the bathtub. "I'll get you some clean clothes babe", Toni said as Cheryl was standing naked in the middle of the bathroom, her arms pressed into her stomach. "Thanks", Cheryl said, her voice shivering.
A minute later Toni returned with some fresh pyjamas, a pair of panties and a sanitary pad. She stared at her girlfriend who looked even paler than usual, wishing she could take some of the pain away for her. "Here let me help you dress", Toni knelt down as she helped Cheryl step into her panties, sticking a pad to the fabric before pulling them up.
"All nice and clean again", Toni said after dressing Cheryl, swiftly pecking her girlfriend on the lips.
"I'll just replace the sheets real quick, okay Cher". Cheryl nodded as she carefully sat herself down on the chair next to her desk.
As Toni was replacing the sheets, she heard Cheryl breathing heavily, her head buried in her hands.
After a few more minutes Cheryl felt a hand on her back, drawing small circles. "TT", Cheryl looked up from her hands, her face stained with tears. "Hey baby, the bed is all ready, do you want to lay down or do you want me to maybe make you some tea?"
"Can we just lay down and cuddle?".
"Of course babe", Toni said as she helped Cheryl get up and into the bed, nicely tucked under the sheets like a little child.
Toni climbed into the bed and lay down next to Cheryl, pulling her girlfriend's body in close.
Cheryl lay her head on Toni's chest and let her arm rest on her girlfriend's stomach. She tried to ignore the excruciating pain, but it was pointless.
Toni kept rubbing Cheryl's back gently, occasionally kissing her head as Cheryl cried on top of her.
She listened to Cheryl's sobs for another two hours, before they suddenly stopped. Toni felt relieved and closed her eyes as she knew her girlfriend had finally fallen asleep.
