Cheryl stared down and smiled at the sight, "some things are so unbelievably simple, yet so powerful," she thought to herself. She was holding the tanned woman's hand in her own as they were exploring the streets of a yet to be discovered city; Paris, the city of love.

A city where they didn't know the people. Where every street looked the same, but so different at the same time, leaving them both confused and fascinated. They didn't even speak the language. However it felt amazing, like they were temporarily living in another world, a place where even the scent reaching their noses was so miraculously delightful and different from what they were used to. The ancient buildings rising high into the sky, the luscious food that cost a fortune. It all felt downright fantastical. Mythical even.

Though the most important thing, the main reason they came to Paris, was to celebrate their love together. Their infinite love.

Cheryl had been over the moon when Toni told her about her plans of going to Paris for their five-year anniversary of being a couple. She obviously knew her girlfriend had always been a big fan of 'The City of Haute Couture', as Cheryl herself liked to call it. Meaning the capital of fashion.

Cheryl had thanked Toni by squeezing her so firmly that the next day a few bruises appeared on her skin. After that she demonstrated her gratitude to Toni by doing not so appropriate things to her.

It was now day three of their mini adventure in Paris and today Cheryl and Toni's plan was to visit the Eiffel Tower, a spectacle that couldn't be overlooked. "A sight for sore eyes" Cheryl had said when they first laid eyes on the charming tower.

"It's actually even bigger than I imagined." Cheryl said while taking some photos of the iron construction she had only ever seen on the internet before.

Instead of looking at the Eiffel Tower though, Toni was admiring her girlfriend and how stunning she looked while she was in her element. Seeing her girlfriend happy, made her happy. Unfortunately, she was pulled out of her gaze when Cheryl turned around to glance at Toni with a slightly concerned expression on her face.

"What's going on TT? you're so quiet." Cheryl said, wondering if Toni was still enjoying their trip or that she'd rather go home. Back to their familiar and comfortable surroundings.

Toni could see in Cheryl's eyes that she was instantly doubting everything and that she was afraid of what she was going to say. "Oh I'm sorry babe, I was just mesmerised by the sight, it's truly so beautiful."

Cheryl squinted her eyes a little bit, "but you weren't even looking Toni." She said feeling a little deceived by her girlfriend's answer. It was odd, because Toni would never make up something just to satisfy her.

Toni giggled, low-key feeling sorry for her girl who was trying so hard to make this all perfect. "Baby, I was looking at you, I just love to see you so happy, it honestly brings me so much joy. Plus you are the most gorgeous girl ever so how could I not look." Toni said as she grabbed one of Cheryl's hands and stroked her thumb across the back of her girlfriend's hand.

Cheryl rolled her eyes without Toni noticing before giving her a little smile, followed by a hug and a kiss on the mouth. "I love you Toni Topaz." She said while playing with some loose strands of her girlfriend's hair.

"I love you too babe." Toni said as she was holding Cheryl by the waist, keeping her attached to her own body.

Cheryl looked like she was thinking for a minute. "I want to have a photo of us kissing in front of the Eiffel Tower." She suddenly said, taking Toni by surprise. Cheryl was always hesitant when it came to asking strangers for a picture. After a homophobic encounter they had in New York with a middle aged man who was clearly grumpy that particular morning, they decided to stop ask strangers for pictures. Or actually Cheryl in particular, who was a little traumatised by the whole situation and was now too apprehensive to ask anyone else for a picture in public.
