For the past few months Toni has noticed a remarkable habit in Cheryl's daily routine. As far as one can tell, an innocent habit that seems harmless, however Toni is concerned about her girlfriend's well-being and tries to unravel Cheryl's secrets, but she might be to late...-
(This is what happened)When Cheryl was 16 she first discovered the use of a painkiller and how she could relieve some of her stress and physical hurt with it. She took one once in a while in order to keep her emotions in check.
After her brother's murder, her father's death and her mother's abuse she was still enduring, Cheryl started to take one pill a day, since using 2/3 pills per week didn't quite affect her anymore.
Fortunately, things changed for the better when she met Toni Topaz. Instead of taking pills to numb her pain she could actually talk to someone about her emotions and cry on someone's shoulder when she felt sad. Toni was her savior, her light in the darkness.
Though, her habit didn't vanish completely and she still occasionally used the pills as a distraction to escape her reality. She tried to hide her addiction from Toni, since she knew that Toni would do anything in her power to make her stop, which is what she didn't want.
Cheryl was doing quite well when a sudden encounter with her mother made her feel incredibly insecure and useless again, causing her to fall back into old habits.
A few months back, on a quiet spring Sunday, Penelope, who had recently been released from prison and was now free to go wherever she wanted, paid Cheryl an unexpected and unpleasant visit.
She pointed her finger at Cheryl and accused her of ruining the blossom family name, with her revolting and deviant behaviour. According to Penelope she was living a reckless and abominable lifestyle and that one day she would pay the price.
After her mother had slammed the door shut in her face, Cheryl collapsed on the ground and bawled her eyes out. Being confronted with her mother's allegations and ill-words after 4 years of peace and recovery from her abuse....made her feel worthless and unsafe again.
She never told Toni about the encounter she had with het mother, since the only thing she wanted was to forget about it all, like it never even happened.
Cheryl gradually increased the number of tablets she took each day, eventually consuming at least two or sometimes three entire pills per day. It became a standard practice in her routine.
Of course Toni's suspicion grew when Cheryl seemed to be holding back secrets and was often in a gloomy mood. She asked Cheryl about what was going on, plenty of times, but Cheryl always cut her off or ignored her, which was very unlike Cheryl.
Cheryl tried to distance herself from Toni, she felt like a burden and she strongly believed Toni deserved better than her. Toni needed someone who would treat her with the respect and love she deserved in this life....

(Present day)Toni closes the door behind her and sighs. It's been an exhausting week at the Wyrm so she is glad to finally spend some quality time with her girlfriend.
"I'm home!" Toni shouts hoping to hear Cheryl's voice in response.
She doesn't hear anything, so she makes her way down to the kitchen hoping to see her lover in there, leaving her bags in the hallway.
Unfortunately, Toni is met with an empty room and a great silence. "Babe?" Toni yells again, walking into the living room.
She is about to call again when she hears a door slam upstairs, immediately drawing her attention. Toni climbs the steep stairs, unsure about what's going on. "Cher, babe, where are you?"
