Cheryl pov

Toni's been having a hard time at work lately and I can tell that she's stressed out and anxious about it. She works at a photography studio that specialises in taking pictures of babies and young children. I know that Toni loves her job and that this is exactly what she wants to do, but I can tell that something has been troubling her.

The thing is, however, that whenever I try to talk to Toni about it she shuts me off or tells me it's nothing to be worried about. Which naturally only worries me more. Sometimes it makes me wonder if she's hiding something from me or that perhaps something really bad happened and that she's afraid to tell me the truth.

So for tonight, to give Toni some extra attention, I decided to cook her favorite dinner, spaghetti with a creamy sauce and lots of veggies. She deserves to be pampered a little and I'm sure she would appreciate it.

I just really need to figure out what's going on with my girlfriend.

No one's pov

As Cheryl placed two wine glasses on the table and lit a few cherry scented candles, she could hear rumbling coming from the hallway, which meant her lover had come home.

"Hey babe." Cheryl greeted her girlfriend as soon as she walked into the kitchen. However, the response she received made it clear that the brunette was in a bad mood again. "Hi" Toni simply said as she glanced at Cheryl quickly before avoiding eye contact again.

Cheryl knew that if she was going to ask about Toni's day, she'd better wait a little longer. Make sure Toni was comfortable first and calmed down. "I made your favorite T." Cheryl stated with enthusiasm in her voice.

Cheryl catched a little sparkle of excitement in her lover's eyes when she mentioned the food. "Ohh thanks Cher, you didn't have to do that." Toni sounded a bit sad and the expression on her face was gloomy.

"Of course I have to TT, as my future wife you deserve to be cared for and looked after. You're very precious to me." Cheryl said while she poured the sauce on top of the spaghetti.

Ever since they started dating they had always cracked jokes about being wives and getting married one day. It was funny to them, but they also both knew that they most definitely wanted to get married some day.

Toni watched Cheryl from behind as she was busy prepping dinner. She smiled and realised how lucky she was with such a gentle, kind and beautiful girl. A girl whose heart was filled with pure love.

Toni found it hard to collect the right words in her head, so instead she stepped closer to Cheryl, pulled her arms around her body from behind, closed her eyes and let her head rest on the pale girl's shoulder. "I love you." Toni whispered softly.

Cheryl looked down to see Toni's hands on her stomach and she could feel her girlfriend's warm body against her back. "I love you." Cheryl repeated Toni's words.

They stood in silence for about a minute. It wasn't awkward or uncomfortable, it was nice and soothing for the both of them.

Finally, Cheryl turned around in Toni's grip and stared into her lover's eyes for a bit, before pecking soft pink lips. "Come on, let's eat dinner."

Toni nodded and let go of Cheryl's body. The nervous and sad expression Toni previously wore on her face returned and it was quite obvious that something wasn't right.
