(Cheryl and Toni have two kids together; Austin, who is 8 years old and Noah, who is 5 years old)
Cheryl receives a worrying phone call that makes her blood run cold. Certain troubling emotions she contained for years seem to have emerged back into her life without a warning, leaving her an anxious mess. Luckily Toni is there to help out and face Cheryl's demons from her past once again.
*Fluff
*Angst
*Panic attack
*Smut—
After dating for more than eight years and being married for two, Cheryl and Toni both still had an unfulfilled wish, or rather a persistent feeling that they could never quite shake off. Something they needed; to be whole, to be complete.
The desire to add a few more souls to their little family and to start a new chapter in their already perfect lives was what they had been longing for.
After various attempts of getting pregnant, Cheryl was the first to give birth to their son named Austin, he had red hair and dark brown eyes, thus a mini boy version of Cheryl. Three amazing years with their redheaded boy had passed by before Toni gave birth to their second son, named Noah. In contrast to his brother, Noah had dark brown hair with no shade of red whatsoever, though his eyes were an ocean like blue.
Both Cheryl and Toni were very well aware of the fact that their two sons weren't biologically connected to each other. However the boys shared something stronger than the blood running through their veins, they shared a love for each other every child would wish for. Despite the age difference, they were inseparable.
From Austin and Noah's perspective they seemed like any other ordinary family, they were living with their parents who packed their lunchboxes, brought them to school everyday and tucked them into bed at night.
However they weren't a family like any other. People around town talked about them, because it was obvious that those two little boys didn't have a mom and a dad, they had two moms.
The construction of this 'exceptional' family, as some people called it, often raised some questions among both children and adults.
People whispered behind their back or gave them an inquisitive look whenever they came to pick up Austin and Noah from school.
A few years ago, when Austin started in elementary school one of the moms came up to them after the fist day and bluntly said that she claimed to know exactly why it was important to have a father figure in your life as a young child and that she was concerned about their parenting methods.
Cheryl and Toni learned how to deal with these type of questions and accusations over the years. Though Cheryl sometimes had a hard time processing, as the only thing she wanted was to create a safe and healthy environment for her kids to grow up in and not follow into her own mother's footsteps.
Fortunately they never actually received any real threats or allegations that got out of hand, until one day Cheryl received a seemingly innocent phone call from one of her son's teachers.
(Present day)
Cheryl is about to head out the door when she hears her phone ring in her pocket, assuming it's Toni. She looks at the screen for a second, confused as she is unfamiliar with the number, picking up anyway.
"Hi, this is Cheryl Topaz".
"Hi Cheryl, this is Wendy from Centreville elementary school, I am Austin's teacher, uhm am I not disturbing you?" She carefully asked before continuing.
"Oh no of course not, "
"Alright, well I was wondering if it's possible for you to come by later today at around 6PM, I'd like to talk to you about a little situation that occurred today concerning Austin. You may bring your partner".
