Cheryl and Toni go zip-lining, but things don't go according to plan.

"You were the one that wanted to go on these things in the first place." Toni said to her girlfriend as she was getting a little frustrated with the redhead.

They were in Costa Rica with Toni's side of the family and Cheryl had the most brilliant idea to go zip-lining. However, now that they were actually doing it, Cheryl was terrified.

"I didn't know that the trees were going to be this huge Toni." Cheryl spat. She was firmly grasping onto the rope attached to her safety harness as she tried to withhold tears.

Toni shook her head. "Then you should have looked that up. Just go Cher, you're holding everyone up." Toni knew she was being hard on Cheryl and that maybe this wasn't the right way to go about it, but there were more than 20 people impatiently waiting behind them and she didn't know what else to do. She was panicking too.

Tears were rolling down Cheryl's cheeks as she looked at Toni with pure fear in her eyes. "Babe, I don't know what to do." Cheryl said in a small voice. She needed Toni for support, she needed her to help her and get her out of this situation.

Toni looked into Cheryl's sad eyes and realised this wasn't her girlfriend's fault. She probably underestimated the situation and thought it would be a fun activity for the both of them.

"Excuse me sir, are you sure there is no other way down?" Toni said, even though she already knew the answer since this was the fourth time she had asked.

The man looked at Toni with an irritated expression on his face, like he had already dealt with several people like Cheryl that day. "No, you cannot go back. All of these people are waiting so please hurry up."

Toni gave up trying and knelt down next to Cheryl who was crouched down next to the big tree. They were about 50 feet above the ground and there was absolutely no going back. "Baby." Toni said as she stroked the redhead's hair. Cheryl kept her hands in front of her face, but she was listening.

"I'm sorry Cher, but I'm afraid the only way down is by using the zip line." Toni glanced over her shoulder and looked at all the people that were standing in line waiting for Cheryl to go. There were now at least 30 people and by the way they looked at them, it was clear that they weren't so amused.

"It'll be over before you know it, I swear baby." Toni tried to reassure Cheryl by using cute nicknames, but it didn't seem to affect the redhead. "You can do this Cheryl. You know you can do this. Don't let the fear inside your head define your actions."

Cheryl finally removed her hands from her face and stared into the brunette's eyes. "I know, but it feels like I'm gonna die." Cheryl whined.

Toni brushed Cheryl's hair out of her face and wiped her cheeks dry with her thumbs. "You're not going to die Cheryl. Thousands of people have already done this before you, you're in a safe environment and I know that you can do this."

Cheryl shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe."

"No, not maybe. You can do this Cher. It's only one zip line. It'll be over before you know it and I'll be right behind you okay?" Toni knew that she was getting closer to getting Cheryl down. She just needed that last little push to do it.

"Now stand up and give me a kiss." Toni said while holding on to Cheryl's arm to help her up.

Cheryl did as she was told and pecked Toni on the lips. "Are you sure I can do this?" Cheryl said with a little more confidence in her voice.

Toni was about to respond and tell her girlfriend she was a hundred percent certain that she could do this, when a man, about 20 feet behind them shouted something. "Can you see that folks, these lesbos are blocking our way and I ain't got no time for that bullshit:"

Toni's heart started beating faster as she turned around and looked at the man. "What the hell did you just say?" Toni yelled back at the man.

"Kiss your dyke somewhere else little girl." The man howled. He was wearing an oversized shirt that almost reached his knees and shorts that were too short. His face was big and round and he seemed to be around 60 years of age.

Toni felt dizzy. The only thing she wanted to do right know was strangle the man with the rope that secured him to the cable above his head. "I'm gonna kill you, you fu..."

Toni didn't finish her sentence as she could feel an arm wrap around her torso that dragged her back around. "Toni don't, he's not worth it. Don't listen to him." Cheryl said, as she kept her arm around her girlfriend's body to keep her close.

"I could literally kill him Cheryl. No one has the right to say something like that about my girl." Toni breathed out. Her cheeks were red and it was clear that she was incredibly angry. "Jesus Cher, I want to kill him." Toni didn't look around again, because Cheryl was right, the man was not worth it. He was just a pathetic loser with zero knowledge and no empathy.

"I know you want to. I want to, but we can't listen to him okay. You're better than him. You know better." Cheryl reassured her girlfriend as she forgot about the zip line for a short second.

"Right. Let's just get down first." Toni said. She took a deep breath and forced herself to focus on Cheryl again. "You can do this okay. Go sit on the platform and just bend over slightly."

Cheryl sat down on the platform and gripped onto the rope again. "Don't push me." Cheryl said a little aggressively. She could feel the pressure of Toni's hand on her back slightly pushing her forward a little bit.

Toni grinned, because admittedly, she was pushing her a little. "I won't push you Cheryl." She placed a quick kiss on the side of her head. "You can do this babe."

Cheryl sighed before slowly scooching closer to the edge. "I'm never doing this again." Her knuckles turned white as she gripped onto the rope as hard as she could and squeezed her eyes shut as she let herself fall forward.

Cheryl let out the girliest scream as she was soaring through the air. Toni on the other hand was cheering and clapping as she watched Cheryl become smaller and smaller.

"It's your turn now miss." The man she had spoken to before said to her. He was clearly still irritated, but Toni could also sense some relief now that he knew he wouldn't have to call an emergency helicopter to get them out of the way.

"Gladly." Toni said to herself as she went to sit on the platform. She bent forward just like Cheryl and let her body be carried by the harness she was wearing.

Before she could even perceive the beautiful scenery around her it was already over. Someone roughly pulled on her harness, detached it from the rope and before she knew it she found herself in the embrace of her lover again.

"Oh my god TT, that was crazy." Cheryl said excitedly as she pressed her lips onto her girlfriend's ones.

Toni laughed. "Don't tell me you actually had fun."

Cheryl merely responded by innocently smiling at her girlfriend.

"Well, anyway, I'm very proud of you Cheryl. I knew you could do it." Toni rubbed Cheryl's back and let her girlfriend have a little moment to be proud of herself.

"Now let's get something to drink. All of that cheering on truly exhausted me." Toni held out her hand to Cheryl and waited for her to grab it before walking to the restaurant.

They were aware of the stares and the whispering behind their backs, but that didn't stop them from doing it. They were happy and in love and that was all that mattered.
