Cheryl thinks that Toni ignores her, which upsets her.
*Fluff
-Toni was working hard on an essay that wasn't due for another week, yet she felt inspired and motivated to work on it now. A Friday night. She was sitting in Cheryl's four poster bed with a pillow in her back, a laptop on her lap and a coke on the nightstand right next to her.
She swiftly looked up from her laptop as she heard the door to their connected bathroom open. She looked at Cheryl who was merely wearing a towel and grinned, knowing that she had such a hot girlfriend.
She focused on her essay again as Cheryl sat down behind her vanity and did her nightly skincare routine.
After a while she felt the bed indenting on her left and saw the redheaded beauty next to her. "Hey babe, nice shower?" Toni asked without taking her eyes off of her essay.
"Mhm yeah it was nice." Cheryl said getting closer to Toni to cuddle her.
"Good." Toni quickly glanced into her girlfriend's dark brown eyes. She could see a sparkle in them, one she was familiar with, but didn't immediately recognise.
"Toni?" Cheryl asked innocently.
Toni hummed.
"Can we have sex?" The taller girl asked without hesitation or doubt.
The specific look in Cheryl's eyes instantly made sense now. "Mhmm I don't know Cher."
Toni's uncertain answer didn't satisfy Cheryl in the slightest. "Don't you want to have sex with me?"
Toni sighed. "You know I do Cheryl. It's just that I...I am working on this essay that...
"Isn't due until next Friday am I right?" Cheryl finished her sentence for her.
"Babe, I know it sounds like an excuse. A weak excuse, but I'm finally doing a little better in school and I'm trying to keep it up." Toni placed her laptop to the side and gave Cheryl her full attention.
"Well I admire your perseverance TT, but you know....it's a Friday night and I had a really busy and stressful day today."
Toni could see that Cheryl was playing the 'I'm the victim' card with her puppy dog eyes and a gloomy look on her face.
"Cheryl, I just don't feel like it, I'm sorry." Toni said as she grabbed her laptop again to continue her work.
Cheryl huffed and let her back hit the pillows. "You're no fun TT." She pulled the red towel off of her body and threw it across the room, letting the warm air hit her bare skin before she pulled the covers over her body.
The redhead wasn't annoyed enough to be mad at her girlfriend yet so she let her head rest on Toni's shoulder and held her arm.
"Babe, I can't type like this." Toni said as she looked at the two pale hands gripped around her arm, basically restraining her from reaching the keyboard.
Cheryl clicked her tongue against her teeth, indicating that she was getting frustrated with Toni. She let go of Toni's arm and took some distance.
"Why don't you play with yourself if you really think you need it." Toni said to Cheryl who was staring at the ceiling motionless.
"It's not the same Toni." Cheryl simply stated without looking at the brunette. She grabbed her phone and decided to scroll through her Instagram to show Toni how bored she was.
Toni, however, wasn't going to give in so easily and pretended to not really care about what her girlfriend was doing. She tapped away behind her laptop and didn't once bother to look at Cheryl.
That was until Toni heard Cheryl let out a groan of frustration. The redhead also said something under her breath, but Toni couldn't quite make out what it was. Sounded like a curse word.
She looked at her girlfriend from the corner of her eye and saw that she was laying on top of the covers with her hand between her legs. Toni knew Cheryl was trying to distract her in any way she could and it was definitely working.
She rolled her eyes and tried to refocus on her essay. Even though her girlfriend was moaning right next to her she wanted to appear unbothered.
She kept her eyes on the screen for a solid four minutes when all of a sudden she heard a muffled sob coming from her left. She looked at the redhead's face and saw that tears were falling from the side of her face. "Baby what's wrong?" Toni asked with concern in her voice.
Cheryl moved her hands in front of her face to hide her emotions from showing. "You just....ig..nore me Toni and I had a horrible day today. I just wanted to..to feel good for a moment." Cheryl cried. She didn't look at Toni and kept her face hidden.
Toni felt horrible for not properly listening to Cheryl and not believing her, she should have known there'd be a reason she was so clingy. "Oh I'm so sorry love, I think I just didn't read the signs."
Cheryl looked at Toni with a wet-stained face. "Of course you didn't Toni, you only care about that stupid essay that isn't due for another 6 years."
Toni closed her laptop and placed it on the nightstand. "I'm sorry Cheryl. I should have listened to you."
"Yeah well, it's too late now anyways." The redhead rolled onto her left side, facing away from Toni. She pulled the covers over her naked body once again and cut herself off.
Toni listened to Cheryl's sobs as she thought about saying something else. However she knew that anything she said right now could potentially make things even worse. So instead she moved closer to her girlfriend until her front was touching Cheryl's back.
Toni was expecting a reaction from Cheryl, but didn't hear anything so she assumed it would be alright. She put her hand on the redhead's shoulder and placed a kiss behind her ear. "I'm really sorry baby girl."
Cheryl took her time and waited a moment before saying something back to Toni. "Your hands are cold."
"Perhaps you can warm them up for me?" Toni asked.
Cheryl intertwined her fingers with Toni's fingers and held their hands against her chest. They both lay still for a moment until Cheryl spoke. "You know I love you Toni."
Toni was surprised to hear those words from her girlfriend as she only said them on special occasions to keep it meaningful. That's what she always said.
"I love you too babe." Toni placed another kiss on the redhead's shoulder.
"I guess it just upset me when you didn't really pay attention to me, uhmm but I know that I should have just talked to you and made it clear that I had an awful day." Cheryl shifted in Toni's embrace until she could look into her girlfriend's dark brown eyes and see that they were full of adoration.
Toni smiled and let Cheryl explain her thoughts. "Yes, I agree. You should have told me about your feelings. I do however know that I made it difficult for you and for that I apologise."
"Mhmm It's okay TT."
"So why don't you tell me what happened today and then if you're still up for it I can maybe make you feel a little bit better?"
The redhead's eyes twinkled and it was clear to Toni that she liked that idea. "That sounds nice."
