"What is that?" Toni asked while pointing at Cheryl's eye. She looked at her redheaded girlfriend with a confused and concerned expression on her face. She hadn't noticed it last night, but as she looked at her face now, it was clear as day that there was a bruise right underneath her eye.
Cheryl refused to look at her lover as she folded a few of her shirts and put them away in her closet. "What are you talking about TT."
Toni immediately detected the change in Cheryl's attitude and thought it was weird.
"You have a bruise on your face Cher."
"Oh I do? I'll check it out." Cheryl left their bedroom without looking at the brunette or saying another word.
Toni didn't think twice and got up from the bed to follow Cheryl. She found her in the bathroom in front of the mirror. "Can I see babe?"
"It's fine Toni, I must have bumped into something last night when I was looking for a towel."
Toni sensed the irritation in her girlfriend's voice and instantly knew there was something she wasn't being fully honest about. Cheryl would never act this way, unless there was something troubling her.
"My love, please just let me have a look." Toni pleaded one more time.
Cheryl turned around and let the brunette's soft hands touch her face. She could feel her fingers lightly brush over the swollen bruise. It made her feel vulnerable.
Toni hesitated a little before asking her girlfriend another question. "Are you sure you merely bumped into something?"
The taller girl instantly shook her head. "Of course I'm sure TT." She turned around and let her hair fall in front of her face, blocking her girlfriend from her vision.
Toni stroked Cheryl's back and fidgeted with the ends of her girlfriend's hair for a little while as the redhead applied some lotion to her face. She had this odd feeling in her stomach, that Cheryl wasn't telling her the full truth. That she was hiding something.
She opened her mouth, but closed it again as she realised she had no idea what she was supposed to say. Instead, she went to stand behind her and put her arms around the pale girl's body, pressing her front against her back.
"Will you take a shower with me?"
It took Cheryl a few seconds to respond and when she finally said something it sounded like she was doubting her decision. "Mhmm sure TT."
They both undressed and got into the shower.
Their breasts were pressed against each other as they savoured the warmth of the drops of water that hit their skin. Toni looked at Cheryl, but Cheryl kept her eyes averted.
Toni placed a peck on the taller girl's collarbone and moved her hands from her girlfriend's back to her ass and her thighs, when all of a sudden Cheryl groaned.
"What's wrong?" Toni asked directly, being able to distinguish Cheryl's sounds of pleasure from her sounds of discomfort. She could tell there was something bothering her.
Cheryl quickly glanced at her left thigh before looking at Toni again who appeared to be very visibly worried. "Nothing, it's nothing babe."
Cheryl's vagueness confirmed Toni's suspicions. "Cher." Toni said seriously. "Something is wrong, I can tell."
They stared into each other's eyes until Toni slowly moved her gaze to Cheryl's leg. She knew her girlfriend noticed she was looking when she moved her arm to shield something on her leg she obviously didn't want Toni to see.
