I hated it but I had to.
I know that he didn't know that I knew that he was in pain, I know that each time he takes someone's pain it takes a toll on his body, his body absorbs all the pain from a person and takes it on.
I love him but he's an idiot.
My idiot.
I hated leaving him when I knew he was in such great pain, I wish there was a way for me to take the pain from him so that he doesn't have to suffer anymore, to make things worse I felt him take my anger away, feeling it being pulled out of me like a vacuum.
Once I zoomed myself away from them I was half way across the forest and thats when I heard it- his anghorn, I had never heard it in such anguish, it almost pulled me back to him, I felt his pain as if it was my own, but I knew he had wanted me to go on.
So on I went.
It wasn't long till I found my brother, he was slumped up against a fallen tree, his head back with his eyes closed, making a good impersonation of a corpse, approaching him he had opened his eyes and then rolled them.
"You found me."
~
Minutes have passed and I have parked my arse in the dirt right next to him, it has been minutes and neither one of us have spoken, the sound of birds chirping being our only audience.
Letting out a sigh I let my head fall back against the tree behind me, he still sits beside me saying nothing, a cool breeze whips my hair about until it stills, goosebumps appearing on the exposed skin of my arms making me think about how I should have put a coat on.
"So...I am guessing you saw me."
Still keeping my eyes closed I make an agreeable noise, for a few moments he stays quiet, opening my eyes I see that he has sat up with his legs spread out before him, a far away expression on his face.
"The trees weren't exactly good cover."
He let's out a soft chuckle as he shakes his head and looks at me, dark circles around his eyes telling me that he hasn't slept good in a while- probably not at all.
"I was hoping I could slip away without anyone noticing, but I stepped on a broken branch and it blew my cover, while I was silently cursing the blasted branch I knew that Leto had already seen me, quickly trying to make haste then did I realise that you had too."
He tries out a sad smile.
"How did you even know I would still be here anyway?"
Letting out a laugh I place my hand on his shoulder and give him a light squeeze, he raises his eyebrows.
