'I was once reborn
and called chaos,

but have since
evolved.

once a story
abandoned mid-sentence,
unfinished images left
within sepia dust,
only to be forgotten forever
like those childhood stories
of fairytales-

those lies we were taught
and led to believe
as children.

while permanent changes
began to unfold,
mistrust blooming
like an origami flower,
all within the blink of an eye.

those stories once penned,
from blood onto parchment,
became etched within stone,
shaped to everyone else's idea
of perfection,

becoming lost within
the toxic cloud
right before eruption.'

Going against everything I have ever known, turning away from my soul mate, that look in his eyes, oh that look...it damn near killed me.

Once I had made my decision to leave, his presence in my mind had gone, I had only a few seconds to send my mental message to him, as he heard it I saw the tears in his eyes, saw that at any moment he would collapse, knowing that he was only holding it together for my benefit.

But I had to get away.

I had to.

The only other two people who I trust were the ones I had thought of in the moment I knew what I had to do, the only two of my kin that had laid down their lives for me, to protect me, to give me their complete trust.

Lorna and Mercury.

Before I had managed to reach their condo, I flew around the city for a long time, letting the cool air blow through my hair, just letting my wings guide me, letting them support me as if they had a mind of their own, as if they were their own person.

~Three Days before~

Watching the tears threatening to fall from his eyes, whispering my goodbyes into his mind, letting my wings spread out around me, feeling them getting ready to pull my unwilling body into the air.

He just watches my wings pull me up into the sky, his eyes never once leaving my own, even after I have almost molded into the darkness of the sky, I still feel his eyes on me.

With tears streaming down my face, not knowing where I am going, blurred vision making me confused as I aimlessly fly through the sky, the cold air violently ripping into my exposed skin, it almost hurting.
