Kiefer's POV
"Ah c'mon. Ara, answer my call!" I yelled. At this moment, I'm in my car, driving. Driving all the way to Taft because Ara doesn't pick up my calls. That girl!
"C'mon Ara please.." I said and finally Ara answered me.
"Why? Is there a problem? Gahd, 10 missed calls from you? Is there something important?" Ara on the other line.
"Yes. Hindi naman siguro ako tatawag if it's not important." I said.
"Okay, fine. What is that?"
"Not here. Let's talk."
"What?! I'm in our practice, dude. Not now."
"No. I am on my way to Taft actually isang liko na lang, school niyo na. So, after practice, meet me up, okay? I'll text you where will meet." I said and hung up.
Finally, nakarating na rin ng Taft. I texted Ara na nasa McDonalds ako. Hindi ako bumaba ng sasakyan, I just parked my car here. Baka may makakita pa sa akin.
By the way, I am Kiefer Isaac Ravena. But you can call me Kiefer or Kief na lang. I'm studying in Ateneo and at the same time, I am an athlete. Mahirap 'di ba? But I am enjoying it.
Ara? Yeah, Ara Galang, one of the famous players of DLSU. She's my bestfriend. Yes, my one and only bestfriend. No joke.
After a while, someone is knocking on and I saw Ara. Finally, she came. I unlocked the door and opened it.
"Problema?" She asked and binigyan ako ng fries na binili niya sa McDo.
"I got no problems---"
"What the fuck?" She exclaimed. "Todo isip ako ng dahilan kay Coach Ram para lang makausap kita. Then you're telling me, you don't have any problems?"
"Let me finish first. Okay? I owe your effort just to see me. I know you love me." I flashed a smile then I hugged her.
"Oh please, Kief. Let go! Kadiri ka. Di tayo talo. Tsaka anong love love yan? Kaibigan kita noh?" Sigaw niya at pilit siyang nagpupumiglas sa yakap ko. When she finally hit me in my tummy, dun na ko bumitaw. Sakit kaya.
"Sabihin mo na kung anong gusto mong sabihin. Gusto ko ng magpahinga eh." Nakasimangot na sabi nito.
"Listen carefully, okay?" I asked her and she followed me. "I'm recruited by a coach from US. He said he wants me to play for his team!"
Nakita ko namang nagsilakihan ang mga mata niya at pinalo-palo na ako.
"Oh my God, really?"
"Yeah. We had a meeting earlier kaya ako tumatawag sayo."
"Pwede namang sa tawag na lang sabihin di ba? Sayang effort mo, nagpunta ka pa dito."
"Sayang effort? Nah, bestfriend ko yung pupuntahan ko dito."
"Naks. Ikaw talaga sweet satin eh." She said and she pinched my right cheek. "So, may kasama bang panlilibre yan?"
"Ah eh, Ara pwede next time na lang?" I asked and there, I saw her happy face changed to sad face. "I forgot to bring extra money today. Pwede next time na lang. This weekend, kahit ano ibibigay ko sayo."
"Talaga?"
"Oo. Kilala mo naman ako di ba?"
"Ok. Sabi mo yan ah." Sabi nito at sumubo ulit ng fries. "I need to go na. I need some rest. Training ulit namin bukas."
"Ok sure. See you on Saturday?"
"Saturday!" She said and she looked like a kid na akala mo binigyan ng tatay ng reward. Lumabas na siya ng sasakyan ko at kumaway pa bago umalis.
Sa pagkakaakala ni Ara na uuwi na ko, hindi. May kikitain pa ako dito and that person is my girlfriend. Ara doesn't know that, so 'shhhh'.
