English is stupid

Reki and I were skating against each other. I looked back at him and smiled, the hair hitting my face slightly. "I'm gonna beat you!" I said as the air wooshed passed me. Reki tried to catch up me and I skated closer to him "You know what Miya will do if you lose." I said softly and I pulled ahead of me. I let him go into the warehouse and then quickly caught up to him. He was taking the safer way and I went above him.

I stared at him and avoided the hole in the metal bridge. I saw him cross the finished line and I rode down the rails carefully. Miya tapped his foot and crossed his arms. The crowd quickly dispersed and reki was all smiley. "You went easy on me." He mumbled and I looked to the side. Miya clawed my arm "Hey the same goes for you, I don't care who lost, you're getting the punishment." I picked up my board and he dragged me to shadows car. I walked back slowly with a frilly dress on and reki burst out in laughter. I pulled it down, scared it would show too much. Miya took a picture of me and I glared at him "I hate you." I whispered as I walked past him. Reki wiped the tears out of his eyes.

"Why are you pulling it off?" He chuckled and I carefully picked up my board. "I'm going home." Miya smacked my back. "You better not get that dirty, my sister will kill me." I nodded and grabbed rekis wrist, walking out of 'S'. I skated home, making sure to kept a hand on the bottom of the dress. "Just take it off, you can have my sweatshirt." I slowly down and stood against the brick wall. Reki looked at me and picked up his board. He started to take off his sweatshirt and I put my hands up "N-no I don't want it." I mumbled and he already pulled it off. He had a red shirt on underneath and handed it to me.

I held it in my hands and squeezed it. "Thank you." I whispered and looked up at him. "Langa, why are you crying?" I touched my face and tears were falling out of the corners off my eyes. I wiped them away and looked the other way. He stood there quietly and I sniffled. "I like you so much." I said without realizing I said it in English. He stared at me with a confused look on his face. "Huh?" I shook my head and pressed my palms into my eyes. "Go home. I'll be fine." I looked at him and he glanced at my face. "Oh-h okay." We did our handshake halfheartedly and I watched him skate away. I fell to my knees and stared at the ground. 'What did I just do?'

Two weeks later
Rekis pov:

I sat in my room. "I like you." I sounded out slowly, trying to figure out what if means. I grabbed my phone and search in how I think it's spelled. My eyes widened and I dropped my phone. My face flushed and I covered my eyes. My door opened and I saw langa. I fell back and he picked up my skateboard "We'll be late." I stared at him and my mouth opened slightly. He looked back at me "What?" I stumbled to my feet and grabbed my jacket.

We walked out and skated quietly. "T-that thing you said." I mumbled and looked back. "Huh?" I sighed "You like me?" I asked and he fell off his board. He picked himself up and stared at me "When did I tell you that?" He was stumbling over his words and I stood infront of him. "You said...I like you so much." I carefully tried to speak English and he covered his face. I squared and put my arms on my knees. "Are you okay?" He shocked his head and peeked at me through his fingers. He sighed and put his head down, his hand coming off his face. He grew quiet and a car drove by. "Langa." I said quietly and ruffled his hair with a smile.

He looked up and I took my headband off. I carefully dipped it over his head and pulled his hair back. He stared at me with a pink face and I played with his hair for a second "What are you doing?" He said quietly and I ignored him. I took my hands away and sat on the cold concrete. I put my hands on his thighs and leaned over. He looked at me and our lips met. I smiled and pulled away. It was short but the back of neck was hot. He looked at me with wide eyes and I pulled my board over "Theyll close the gates." I started to skate and he caught up to me. I took my headband back and smiled. "You better win this race."
