I sat outside with reki and looked at him with soft eyes. He looked back at me and smiled. "Hey, can you tighten this for me?" He asked and set his board and I screw in my lap. I nodded and looked out at the road as I spun the screw around and around.

I handed it back and his hand grazed over mine. "Thanks langa~" he hugged me quickly before running over to the workshop and putting his board away. My skin burned and I covered the intense blush with my hands. Oh why does he do this to me? He walked back over and I avoided his gaze. "Can I post a picture of us?" I nodded and he pulled his phone out.

He showed me the caption and stuff before he posted and he looked down at his phone screen, smiling. "Your hair looks good in the picture." I quickly glanced his way and he looked up at me. "And your smiles really nice." I covered my face and let out a slow breath. Oh he doesn't know what's he's doing to me right now.

I looked over at him and smiled weakly. "Thank you." I muttered and he nodded, before setting his phone down. I sighed quietly to myself and looked down at my phone. My mom texted me to come home and I stood up. "Don't forget about tonight." He said and I started to walk off. Reki ran over quickly and hugged me. "Bye Langa!" He smiled and sent me on my way.

I walked into the kitchen and grabbed some water. "Langa, honey, can we talk?" My mom said and sat down at the kitchen table. I scrunched my face up a bit and nodded before sitting down across from her. "You and reki are good friends..." she trailed off and i titled my head slightly. "Yeah?" I said and she peeked up. "Well I was just wondering, are you guys...more than friends." I stared at her and my hands got sweaty.

"Do you think I'm gay?" Flew out of my mouth before I could think and she froze. "Well, you've always been into girly things, sometimes I worry about you. But I think rekis a wonderful boy, you guys look so cute together." She smiled and my mouth dropped open. "Mom, I'm not dating reki." I said emphasized and she nodded. "Okay, okay, I believe you, but honey, you can always talk to me. You know I'm into the ladies too." She joked and I covered my face.

"Please stop talking." I said, embarrassed and she stood up, following me down the hall. "Even if you don't like reki, I think he likes you. Ive seen the way he looks at you." She winked and elbowed my side before walking into her room. My face flushed and I glanced at a text from reki after my phone beeped. I quickly responded and then collapsed on the couch, rethinking everything.

I woke up hours later, the room orange from the sunset, to a few texts from reki.

'Hey are you here yet?'
'Langa. You didn't forget did you? Haha.'
'It's getting kind of late, are you coming?'
'Uh, I guess you forgot or just didn't want to come'
'Sorry'

I cursed myself and rubbed my eyes. I sat up and left my phone on the couch, hurrying to the front door. I rushed to rekis house and stood on his front porch, a little out of breath. I knocked on the door and his mom let me in. I walked to rekis room and opened the door. He wiped his face off and looked at me. "Oh hey Langa." He smiled, but his eyes and cheeks were red and puffy.

My stomach twisted and I struggled to find something to say. "I Uh, I texted you but I don't think you saw." He wiped his face again and I picked at my nails. "I'm sorry, I fell asleep." I said and he still had a bright smile on his face. "It's okay, it was just dinner." I walked over to him and sat down at his feet.

He sat up and hugged his legs, while resting his face on his knees. "I know but you seemed so excited." I slouched over and he stared at me with soft eyes. "Well not for dinner, I was just happy that we were going to spend time together." I looked at him and got lost in his eyes. He smiled and leaned closer to me. Our faces were so close and he kept eye contact with me, setting his hand on my leg.

Reki found my hand and ran his fingers over my mine a few times before holding my hand, tight. "I wanted to tell you something tonight." He whispered and I nodded, urging him along. "But it's kind of embarrassing and I'd had just worked up the courage to tell you tonight and when you didn't show up and I felt bad. And I came home and cried over a stupid boy."

I felt myself leaning closer and he smiled weakly. "Sometimes when you give me even the slightest hope that you're flirting with me, I'll get really excited and my heart will race and my palms will get all sweaty." He paused for a breath and squeezed my hand. "And- and sometimes I'll forget out to talk and breathe and just do stupid things and say stupid-" "Me too." I interrupted him and we stared at each other. I let out a breath and smiled.

"Dude, I do stupid things all the time, today my mom asked me if we were more than friends and I completely freaked out at just the thought of us...we'll I don't know, doing couple things, like kissing and cuddling and holding hands." I said which was kind of ironic, considering I'm holding his hand as we speak. Reki started to blush and I moved my free hand to the side of his face.

"And I might say something stupid right now- but I really want to kiss you." He pressed his lips together and then nodded quickly. I leaned forward and hesitated, my chest tightened and my stomach tossed and turned. Our lips met for a maybe three seconds at the most, but it was the best three seconds of my life. I hovered over his mouth and then kissed him again. And again. And again.

I pulled away from him and fell on the bed beside him. We were both a little out of breath and he turned to me, wrapping his body around mine. "I really, really like kissing you." He said and squeezed my chest. I smiled buried my face in his hair. "Yeah, we should do that more often."
