I sat in the gym talking to my friend and looked across the bleachers at a new kid with blue hair. "He's cute." I chimed and ryuji glanced over. "Yeah, and he's like super quiet too. He seemed lonely or something." He said and I bit my nails. I stood up and ryuji looked up at me. "Where are you going?" I smiled and shrugged. "I'm just introducing myself." I walked over and he looked up from his hands. "Hi!" I put my hand out and he looked like he said something but I didn't really hear him. "Oh that's weird, people don't shake hands anymore." I said as I put my hand behind my back.

"I'm reki, what's your name?" He looked intimated and I backed off a little, taking a small step back. "Uh Langa." He said in a funny accent and peered at him. "Where are you from? That's a cool accent." He looked at me for a moment and then looked down. He took a minute and then looked back up at me. "What?" He asked and I repeated myself. "Oh. Oh. Canada." He said and I smiled at him. "Well langa, I don't mean to be too forward but I'd really like to have your number, maybe we could hang out a little, aren't you in my math class?" He nodded and took his phone out of his back pocket.

He pointed at the screen and I put my number in. "You don't talk much, huh? I guess that kinda balances us out." I laughed softly and looked at me, slightly confused. "Sorry, I don't-" he struggled and I waited for him, slowly handing his phone back. "I'm learning." He said slowly and I smiled. "Oh that's alright, you'll pick it up quickly, I talk a lot so that'll help." I laughed and he had a small smile. "Thank you." He said and I nodded. "Yeah of course. Um- call me I guess, I can show you around or something." He nodded and had a cute look on his face. "Thank you." He said again and I waved softly as I went back over to Ryuji. "He is the most adorable thing I've ever seen." I whispered to him and he chuckled.

I got a text from Langa that night and we must've talked for hours. I woke up the next rooming with my phone in my hand and I remembered passing out while talking to him. I sat up and opened my phone, texting him good morning and that I was sorry for falling asleep. I didn't get a message back until a few hours later which basically said the same thing. We talked periodically throughout the day, and texting was nice, he seemed to be better at that than talking.

I walked into class the next day and Langa was sitting by himself again. I sighed softly and walked over to him sitting beside him. "Why are you still by yourself?" I asked and he looked over, shrugged. "Well I didn't know if you wanted me to still sit with you." He mumbled and I smiled at him. "Yeah, of course I do." It got quiet between us and I picked at my nails. "So Um, would you like to maybe come over after school someday?" I asked and he took a moment before shrugging. "I'll have to ask my mom." He said and I nodded, watching him before glancing out the window. "But you could probably come over to my house, I don't know if my mom would want me going over to a..." he paused and I waited for him to finish.

He clicked his finger together and squinted his eyes. "Ah, stranger." He giggled a little and I smiled at him. "Im a stranger to you?" He shook his head and put his hands on his lap. "No, but you are to my mom." He said and I looked in his eyes. "You're adorable." I mumbled and smiled at him. He smiled softly back and titled his head a bit. "Youre going to hate me, but I don't know what that word is." He chuckled softly to me and I gave a quiet laugh. "It's alright." I said and the teacher started the lesson.

A few nights later, I sat in my room and called Langa. He set his phone up as he answered and I looked at him. "Why are you calling me so late?" He mumbled and I smiled. "I dunno, I'm bored and I need someone to talk to." He squinted his eyes at me and put a pillow under his chin, looking at the screen with sleepy eyes. "I hate you." He said and I chewed at my lip. "Yeah yeah, whatever, let's stop the banter and get into the good stuff." I joked and he hummed softly. "Tell me stuff, you never tell me things about yourself or Canada or like literally anything." I said and he paused for a moment before closing his eyes. "What do you want me to talk about?" He asked and I shrugged.
