I sat in rekis room and glanced over at him. He was drawing on the bottom of a board and I watched his hand grip the board. He looked up at me and smiled before busting himself again. I bite my nails and tried to ignore the fluttering feeling in my chest.

I laid my head down on his bed and looked through my phone. Reki tapped my shoulder and I turned to look at him. "S'cool isn't it?" I nodded and looked at the intricate design marked out in sharpie. "I don't know what colors to do." He muttered and glanced between me and the board. "C'mere." He walked over and grabbed the key to his workspace and I followed him outside.

My hand itched, as I want to hold his hand but I shoved my hand in my pocket, ignoring that itch. He pulled some paint out and I sat down in my chair. He set down a pink, blue, red, and purple before looking at me. He rambled on and on about where which colors looked the best where but all I could focus on was his hand, flying around as he talked. I caught his hand mid air and he froze up.

I stared at our hands and his hand felt so warm in mine. His hand trembled and he took it back, his face burning up. "Anyways, I think the blue and purple would go well together." He sounded shaken up and I stared at my hand, resting in my lap. He cleared his throat and then started painting quietly. I looked at the side of his face and his ears were all red and he had a sour look his face.

"Reki, are you okay?" I asked and he nodded. "It's just hot in here, don't ya think? Sound I open the door?" I watched him fumble around and I shook my head. "It kind of cold in here, is this because I touch your hand? Look, I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything by it." He paused by the door and scratched the back of his neck. "No, I mean, we're dating after all, aren't we?"

I gave a confident nod and a slight hum of agreement. I picked up the brush and dipped it in red and drew a half a heart where one of the trucks would go. I dipped it in water and reki got distracted with something on the shelf. I picked up from of the light blue and finished the heart before setting everything down, like I never touched it. I turned to reki and he dug through a box. "I want to hold your hand." I said and he glanced over his shoulder, his headband sliding over his eyes.

He pushed it up and I stared at him. "Um , okay." He sounded unsure and walked over to me. He didn't grab my hand and just continued to paint the bottom of the board. I leaned onto the table and washed the brush slid gracefully against the wood, leaving a trail of color behind it. "I want to kiss you too, and you never hug me anymore. Why won't you hug me?"

I confronted him and he looked uncomfortable. "I don't know, man. Don't ask weird stuff like that." He laughed awkwardly and I sighed. "I want to cuddle you at night, I'm tired of sleeping on the floor or in my bed alone. Are you afraid to touch me now?" He shook his head and distracted himself with something.

"Does this have to do with your dad?" I said at a lower voice and the paintbrush ran over one of the lines. He paused and stared at the table. "Why are you asking so many questions?" He said under his breath and I looked down at his hand. "Sorry." I mumbled and sat up straight. "Uh, I should go home, I hope you like my addition." I patted his shoulder and he flinched under my hand. I glanced over my shoulder as I left and my heart felt heavy. Who hurt him?

I kicked a rock as I walked home and my phone rang. I picked it up and reki sniffled through the call. "I miss you." He said and took a slow, shaky breath. I smiled and looked up as I walked. "I just left, how can you miss me?" He was quiet and I heard him squeak out a small cry. "I need a hug." I started to walk back to his house and he cried harder. "Reki, why are you crying?" I asked and he caught his breath.

"Because I miss you." I looked at the leaves that were illuminated from the streetlight and felt my cheeks warm up. "Well we already established that, why do you want a hug suddenly?" "Because I feel bad, you think that I don't want to touch you, but I do, Langa, I really do. Im just scared." He set the phone down and I heard muffled cries. I hung the phone up when I got outside the shed and I slowly opened the door.

He looked at me and ran towards me, wrapping his arms tight around my chest. "Oh Langa Langa, Langa." He repeated my name and I relaxed, hugging him back. Reki cried into my shoulder and I held the back of his head. "It's okay." I said softly and he sobbed harder. The door slid opened and I glanced over at his mom.

Reki hid his face and shut up really quick. "Langa, your mom called and told you she's going to be working late tonight, do you want to stay here tonight?" I nodded and she walked away. I picked rekis face up and he wiped his nose on his sleeve.

"I liked the heart." He whispered and I looked in his eyes. "Can we sleep in the same bed tonight?" Reki nodded and fell against me. "Don't hurt me, asshole." He muttered and I smiled shyly. "I'll try my best."
