Stressed

I held langas hand as we walked down the hall at school and I glanced up for a moment. "Did you study for the math test?" He asked and I made eye contact with a boy. He stared at us and had a grossed out look on his face. I stopped breathing for a second and looked back at langa. "What?" I said and he smiled. "Nothing." I nodded and bit my nails. "Langa, did you- well was um- ya know. Being gay. Is that like a normal thing in Canada?" He looked at me and laughed softly.

"Um I guess it's common everywhere, just some places, people are more open about it." I stared at him and nodded. "Well could you be open about it in Canada?" He nodded and we stopped outside our classroom. "I guess people are as acclimated to it here yet." I whispered and he held both my hands. "It's alright, we'll be trendsetters then." He leaned forward and kissed me quickly. I smiled and looked in his eyes. "Thanks." I mumbled and a bunch of people walked around us in the hallway.

"..a bunch of queers." Someone said as they bumped into me and I turned around. They snickered with all there friends and Langa squeezed my hands. "It's alright." He said and I turned to him. "Maybe for you." I said quietly and furrowed my brows. "This is all new to me, and it's difficult when the people you used to be friends with, suddenly start calling you slurs." I said quickly under my breath and he gave me a sympathetic look. "It'll get better, and you still have plenty of friends who love you." He hugged me and I looped my finger on his belt loop. "Okay." I whispered and he let go of me, leading me into the classroom.

After school Langa and I walked home. I bit my nails and Langa took my hand away from my mouth gently, holding my hand. "Stop doing that, you're gonna hurt yourself." He said and I nodded slowly. "Yeah, sorry." I mumbled and he shook my hand lightly. "What are you mopping about? At lunch you were so excited to leave school and hang out at S with me tonight." I smiled and looked up at him. "Yes, and I still am...I'm just thinking, that's all." He rubbed the back of my hand with his thumb and checked his phone.

"Hey, my mom needs me home, so I kinda have to go." I nodded and let go of his hand. "That's fine, I'll see you tonight," he smiled and glanced down. He picked up my face and kissed me. "Sorry I can't walk you home." He whispered and I smiled, pushing him lightly. "Langa, it's fine, I can walk myself home, now go before you get in trouble." He looked at me and kissed me again. "Alright, bye. Text me when you get home." I nodded and he hurried off in the opposite direction. I let out a relieving breath and shook my hands around before walking home.

All of this is so stressful.

Langa opened my window at the usual time and I peeked my head out of my bathroom. He smiled and I waved softly. "Come on for a moment." I said and he crawled through the window. I washed my hands quickly and rushed over to him, knocking him over a little as I kissed him. "Mh, you smell nice." He said when I broke away and I smiled. "Yeah, I got all dolled up for you." He blushed softly and I pinched his nose. "Cmon, I don't want to be late."

We got to S and me and Langa found Miya sitting with Cherry and Joe. Cherry smiled ever so slightly. "You look nice today." He said softly to me and I smiled. "Likewise." I acted all stuck up like him and he turned away from me, hiding a small grin. I looked at Langa and wrapped my arms around him, kissing him. He chuckled and backed up a little. "Reki, what is going on with you." He looked at me and I took my arms off of him. "I just- I don't know, am I not allowed to kiss you anymore?" I teased him and he shook his head.

"No no- please go ahead." I hugged him and rested my head on his shoulder. "It's just that S is somewhere I can act like myself without people calling me those things, and I can like touch you and kiss you and stuff without people thinking we're weird." I whispered and I pulled away from him, holding my hands behind my back. "Okay, enough of that, let's have some fun." I smiled at him and grabbed Miya, running off with him to go skate.
