Flirting

I sat in science class and scrolled through my phone. I glanced up at reki and he was talking to some of his friends. I got up and stood beside him, waiting for him to finish his conversation. "Hey." He turned to me and smiled and I smiled shyly, holding my hands behind my back. "Could you hold something for me?" I asked in a quieter voice and me nodded.

I grabbed his wrist and held it out. I balled my fist up and he waited patiently for me to drop something in his hand. I opened my hand and slowly placed my fingers inbetween his, holding his hand tight. Reki pulled his hand away slightly and his face turned bright red. "Youre such a dork." I sat in the empty seat beside him and his hand finally slid out from mine. I chewed at the inside of my mouth and Reki went back to talking with his friends.

It was finally lunch time and we made our way to the roof, like we did everyday. Usually a few girls from our class follow us up there and sit a little bit away from us, giggling and staring. I always try to ignore them but I can tel Reki tries to impress them. We sat down and I quietly ate my sandwich. Reki started talking and I listened like always, just happy to not be around a bunch of people. I looked over at reki and set my sandwich down. His hands moved around as he talked, he tended to do that a lot, I always thought it was quite cute.

I drank a sip of my water and made eye contact with one of the girls accidentally. She jumped a little and her face turned bright red. I turned back to Reki and my fingers felt cold and numb. I sighed and leaned my head against the wall. "Are you okay?" He asked as he paused his story. I shook my head and closed my eyes, "Do you ever like someone so much and it physically pains you to act like you don't?" Reki gasped and I opened my eyes, watching him. "It's that girl isn't it?" I froze and he started going off on one of his tangents.

I leaned closer to him and my head rested on his shoulder, which moved like crazy as he talked. He continued eating and his arm grew still. "Can we just..sit and be quiet here for a moment?" I asked and he nodded, humming softly. I relaxed and closed my eyes, hearing soft footsteps approach us. I let out an annoyed breath and sat up, fixing my hair. The girl was standing infront of us and she had a pink face. "Hi." She said quietly and i went back to eating, while Reki was talking to her. She finally left and I looked at reki. "Youre so mean to girls, she was just saying hi. Plus, I think she really likes you."

I glanced down at rekis lips and then looked away from him. "I wasn't being mean." Reki smiled softly and nudged my side. "Yes you were, you're such a jerk sometimes." He pushed my face slightly and I scrunched my face up, looking at him. I pushed his head down and fluffed up his hair. He chuckled softly and I smiled, resting my hand in his hair. He sat up straight and I put my arm around him subconsciously. He didn't push it away though.

We finished our lunch and walked to our next class. Our hands kept bumping as we walked down the stairs and I wrapped my pinky around his. He stayed quiet and I looked back at him. "Are you flirting with me?" He asked, standing in the middle of the staircase. I froze and looked down at our hands. Reki had a pink face and he slowly took his hand from mine. "I thought it was a little joke earlier in the classroom but it keeps happening." He sounded almost like he was scared for my answer.

A shiver ran through my body and I rubbed my face. "What are you asking?" I asked, overwhelmed. "Langa, do you like me?" I didn't really understand his tone and I just slowly nodded, staring at the ground. He chuckled softly and stood on the same stair as me before grabbing my hands. I stared at him and he moved his hand up to the sides of my face, very gently holding my face. He smiled softly and stood on his toes, leaning towards me. I stumbled against the wall and he giggled and he leaned into a light kiss on the lips.

I stood there in awe and he kissed my cheek a few times. "Youre so cute." He whispered in my ear and my bag fell off my arm. I completely melted as he hugged me loosely. He let go and picked my bag up for me before grabbing my hand. "Come on, we'll be late." He said and I rubbed my lips as we walked to our next class.
