I talked to Kaoru during my break and he put his hand on mine, lightly rubbing his thumb against mine. "Are you hungry?" I asked and he shook his head. "Can you go upstairs for a moment?" Kaoru slowly took his hand from mine and glanced over to the side.
Two girls walked up beside us and Kaoru cleared his throat, taking a sip of his drink. I acknowledged them and smiled warmly. "Is everything alright?" I asked and she giggled to her friend. "Yeah- yeah everything's great. I was just wondering..if you're free tonight? And maybe if I could get your number?" I let out a softly breath and took my hand off the table. "Im in a relationship, sorry." I half lied. I glanced at Kaoru and he had his head down, reading something on his phone.
I mean, it's not nothing but I don't think we're dating. That got the girl to go away pretty quick though and Kaoru looked up at me and I leaned across the table. "I can't go upstairs now, but maybe I can close early. Can you stick around til then?" He squinted at me and had a faint smile. "Youre really making me chase after you huh?" I smirked and chewed at my lip, trying to hide my smile. "Im not making you do anything." It got quiet for a moment and I sighed, standing up straight. "I'll see you soon, princess." I ruffled his hair up and went back into the kitchen.
I closed the restaurant right after the dinner rush and didn't bother cleaning up too much, that's tomorrows problem. I saw Kaoru sitting in the same seat, patiently waiting for me. "Come on." I waved him over and he quietly followed me up the stairs to my apartment. He grabbed my hand as we walked up the stairs and squeezed it tight. "Thank you for dinner." He said in a indistinguishable tone. "Of course, I told you you'll never have to pay when you eat here."
I unlocked my door and he slid his shoes off. "Yeah but that's when this was still a dream, i didn't think you'd still be doing it." I turned the light on and looked at him. "We'll I care about you, what can I say?" He scrunched his face up and pushed my forehead back as he walked passed. He sat down on my bed and put the tv on, pulling his hair back. I watched him and look my shirt off, leaving me in my undershirt. I changed quietly, letting him relax and then laid down beside him. I watched the show on tv and glanced over at Kaoru.
"What are we?" I asked and he looked over at me. "What do you mean?" I shrugged and looked in his eyes. "I know we aren't just hooking up, but we're not together. There's feeling in there, right?" Kaoru stared at me and his mouth opened slightly. "I'm not answering that." He said under his breath and I moved closer. "It's fine, I think I already know the answer." Our noses bumped and I left a soft kiss on his lips. He moved his hand onto my cheek and kissed me back, pulling me closer.
This feels different, very good, but different.
He quickly pinned me down and straddled my lap. I made a quiet, surprised sound in my throat and stared at him. "I can't stand you." He whispered as he leaned down, kissing my neck. I melted as his fingers crept on my palm, slowly putting his hand against mine. I held his hand tight, but not too tight like I was desperate.
Because I'm definitely not- definitely not desperate.
He lifted his head and moved his hands to the sides of my face, touching my forehead and fixing little strands of hair. I stared at his lips and he grazed his fingers against my lips in return. "I can't believe that I have feelings for a dopey gorilla like you." He mumbled and kissed my cheek. I smiled and blushed lightly as he placed soft, light kisses on my face. Kaoru gently sat on my stomach and pulled my sweater off, placing it to the side. He stayed quiet through the whole process, slowly and methodically, undressing me.
He somehow managed to find the most sensitive places on my body and lightly draw his finger tips over them, leaving me in a big puddle of warm feelings and as much as I don't want to say it- love. He slowly pulled his shirt off before laying on my chest. I let out a breath and I put my hand on the natural divot in his back.
This is so much better than the other times. I feel like we're connecting on a completely different level. The other times felt shallow and just a quick exchange. But now- im holding his hand and listening to him breathing and playing with his hair. "I hate you." He whispered and I kissed the top of his head. "I expected that." I breathed back.
I woke up the neck morning with Kaoru still wrapped up in my arms. I breathed in, pushing his hair out of my face and slowly pulled my hand out of his. He stirred awake as I tried to do this and grabbed my hand, pulling it back into his grasp. He glanced back at me and I smiled softly, buried my nose into his neck and leaving light kisses on the marks from last night. He smiled and swatted me away very lightly. I chuckled and wrapped my arms around him and tickled him a little.
He squirmed and I heard a small laugh escape his mouth. I blushed and looked at him. "That was adorable." He pressed his lips together and glanced up and down. "Oh shut up." He pushed my face back and let go of my hand, scooting away from me. I grabbed his waist and pulled him back. "Hey princess, you're mine now, you now that?" He paused and waited a moment before nodding slowly with the reddest face.
