If I were to write it

The states are reincarnations of a bunch of soldiers who lived thousands if not millions of years ago defending some kind of royal person. After something happened they were reborn and awakened and told in order to thwart the new evil they had to find the child of their leader. But years and years passed and nothing ever came of it. They almost gave up. 

And then the pandemic hit....and the meetings that were happened once every two weeks at best were being led by this DC person
