"So, what do you think about my offer?" Harraz asked, watching her reaction carefully.
He was used to people wanting a position in his company. Everyone dreamed of working for Harraz Holdings. He believed that, for the right price, people would do anything.
Nurin slowly stood from her seat.
Harraz remained seated at the table beside her, watching her closely. She looked directly into his eyes.
"Seriously, Mr. Harraz... if I want to work here, do I have to remove my hijab?" she asked calmly.
A small grin appeared on Harraz's face.
He thought he already knew her answer.
"I'm taking this very seriously," he said.
Nurin blinked twice, processing his words. Then she looked at him again.
"That means I won't be able to work for you."
Harraz raised an eyebrow.
"Why? Are you upset because I asked you to remove your hijab?" he questioned. "It's simple. All you have to do is take it off."
Nurin stared at him silently for a moment.
"Thank you, Mr. Harraz," she said.
Her voice remained polite, but the disappointment in her eyes was clear.
She picked up her purse and file, preparing to leave.
"What exactly is the issue?" Harraz asked, standing up from the table. "Isn't this just a trend?"
Nurin stopped.
Slowly, she turned back toward him.
"If it's just a trend, then why does it bother you so much?" she asked.
Harraz's expression hardened.
"Could you tell me why I have to remove it... just to work here?" Nurin asked.
Harraz stepped closer.
"Because my company is international," he replied. "I want my employees to look modern and educated."
He paused before adding firmly,
"And most importantly... I don't like women who wear hijab."
The room became silent.
Nurin looked at him for a few seconds before smiling softly.
"So it's true," she said. "You really don't like women who wear hijab."
Harraz looked at her, waiting for her response.
"So, Ms. Nurin," he asked, raising his eyebrows, "what do you think of my offer?"
Nurin held her file close to her chest.
"Let me explain something, Mr. Harraz," she said calmly.
"I respect that this is your company, and I respect that you have your own opinions. But my faith is not something I can remove just because someone asks me to."
Her voice remained gentle, but her confidence was clear.
"I would like to work. I want to gain experience. I want to prove myself and build my career."
She looked directly at him.
"But I will not change who I am to earn a position."
She took a breath.
