Jaden pov
I sat in my car in the garage arguing in my head reasons why I should and shouldn't go inside. Never in a million years did I ever think I'd be scared to enter my own home because if some girl.
I sighed as I started to get out of the car. I locked it and walked through the door connecting the entry way to the garage. When I first entered, I was met with a different smell. Melted rubber?
I walked around the bottom floor confused. I walked into the kitchen first to see moulds full of a thick liquid, four of them to be exact. That's probably where the smell is coming from.
I walked back out of the kitchen and into the backyard, where I heard the dogs barking. I looked out to see Mirriella playing with all three of them. Even Beaux seemed to be playing with her. I watched as she giggled and walked over to help Blaze get on top of the concrete block. She also made sure to keep the far away from the open pool, knowing she would be too weak to help get them out. Beaux and Boxer can swim, but I don't think she wants to risk testing that theory.
I decided that instead of being a creep, I was just going to go and do the stuff I came here to do. She seemed quite content with what she was doing, and hadn't noticed me yet. So it didn't bother me.
I trudged up the stairs and into my room. I saw that the hole I punched in the wall was filled, that meant that Remi had people go in my room. I fucking hate it when people go in my room.
I sighed, and try not to let the fact that random people were in my room get to me as much as I knew it was going to, and got in the shower. I quickly washed myself, and got out.
I walked to closet and put a suit on. I contemplated telling Mirriella that I had a meeting today that I would need her for, and decided I was going to.
I made my way downstairs and to the back yard, where she formerly was with the dogs. I was surprised to see that the door was locked, and all three dogs were back in. Boxer and Blaze were sat cuddled up on the sofa next to the folding doors, but Beaux was no where to be seen.
I then say the faint marks of muddy paw prints against the floor, which was quite easy to see due to the floor being black. I followed them to the living room, where I saw Beaux cuddled up against Mirriella's side. I chuckled slightly, earning the attention of the girl, who jumped slightly in fear as she thought she was home alone. Her head moved in my direction, and her face dropped when she saw me.
"Oh, it's you." She said as she dropped her body back.
"Nice to see you too. Get the fuck up, you're needed today." I said as I walked away.
I heard her sigh, that was followed by the sound of her heavy boots hitting my floor, causing my body to cringe slightly. I swear to fucking god if she scratches the floor. I also heard the patter of paws against the floor, signalling Beaux was following her.
"Beaux, go hunting." I said to her.
It's probably one of the only commands she knows in English, and to her it means 'go find Blaze.' She looked up at me, before walking off to go and find her puppy and partner. Once she had got into the living room, where Blaze and Boxer had made their way into at some point, I shut the door.
"Don't scratch my fucking floor." I said to her as I saw her hitting her feet against the floor from her space on the stairs.
"You have dogs. My boots ain't gonna do shit to your, oh so precious, floor." She said dramatically and stumbled over to me.
"Are you drunk?"
"Nope, leg went numb. Happens a lot." She dismissed as she walked into my garage. "You're taking the Lambo." She said as she threw the keys at me.
"Fine." I sighed as I unlocked the metallic black one.
"Wait really? Wow, I did not think that would work." She laughed as she opened the door and sat in. I rolled my eyes and got in alongside her.
"Just don't touch anything."
"You know, I'm close to figuring it out." She said randomly.
"And what are you close to figuring out?" I asked as I looked at her.
"Eyes on the road please. But I'm close to figuring out what caused you to be how you are. I think it has something to do with your room. Considering Remi's reaction to something, and how paranoid she was being when she got people in to fix your wall. But I haven't quite got that far yet." She explained. I felt my body tense at the thought of other people being in my room. "And I can tell by your reaction that you didn't particularly like what I just said." She said smugly.
"You know, you should stop prying into matters that don't concern you." I shut down as I pushed on the speed, wanting this trip to end, and fast.
The thought of the possibility of her actually being close to figuring out my past unsettles me. But the fact that Remi had random people go in my room unsettles me greater. She doesn't know the reason I don't let people in my room, but she knows I don't like it.
There's only three people who knew about that reason, and two of them are dead. Stefan is the only one that knows the reason. And I swear to god if he has told Remi, then he's gonna need a lot more of a reason than he's a good friend to keep his life.
