Mirriella pov
"You can't be serious?" I asked as he appeared from his room.
"What?"
"Are you seriously about to wear an expensive suit, that cost more than your pure bred pit bulls, to east side Chicago?" I asked as I pointed to the Armani suit he had put on.
"What's wrong with the east side?" He asked as he folded his arms over his chest.
"It's one of the dirtiest parts of Chicago. Not to mention all of the dodgy people that live round there." I answered.
"I'm sure the suit will be fine. If it's not, I'll just get a new one." He shrugged.
"You're willing to lose that much money over something small like this?" I almost scoffed at him.
"I won't lose any money. I get my suits on the house, or the house burns down." He smiled smugly at me.
(^^Thomas Shelby reference for those who don't know. If you do I love you)
"Fair enough then." I shrugged as I walked down the stairs.
I went into the kitchen to get a bottle of water, and to count the cash I had picked up. I had gotten about $300, which should probably be enough to buy her something, but I also had my card in case I didn't have enough for the dinner. When I walked back out of the kitchen, I saw Jaden twirling the keys to the Lambo on his fingers.
"No." I stated.
"What is bothering you now princess?" He asked a she looked up at me.
"We're not taking the Lambo." I answered.
"Yes we are." He dismissed.
"Jaden. I said, we're not taking the fucking Lambo, put the keys back." I hissed.
"Give me one good reason." He challenged.
"Judging by your question earlier, you've never been to the east side. Correct or not?" I asked.
"Correct." He confirmed.
"So you have no idea some of the shit they will do to this car. I grew up there. I've lived there all my life. They will tear the Lambo to pieces the moment they see it pull up. You're lucky I'm allowing you to wear the Armani. For the love of god can you put the keys to the Lambo back and just take the fucking Audi?" I explained as I pinched the bridge of my nose.
"Okay fine. We'll take the Audi." He groaned as he walked back to the cabinet he kept the keys in.
I walked into the garage and waited by the car. He walked out and unlocked it. He was about to get in the drivers side, but I stopped him.
"Nah, nah, nah, I'm driving." I said as I took the keys from him.
"I don't think you are-"
"Jaden, it's my hometown. I know where all the best places to park are. I'll get the car somewhere safe and where it's less likely to get damaged." I interrupted as I got in the car and shut the door.
I saw him roll his eyes through the glass as he walked away from the car. He made his way round it and got in the passenger side.
"So fucking annoying." He mumbled as he buckled his seatbelt.
I didn't reply or even acknowledge what he said. I drove out the garage and down the gates, not wanting to waste much time.
When we hit the highway, I wanted to push the car to go as fast as it could, but Jaden's don't seem to like that idea too much. There wasn't really much he could do to stop me. He just sat there going batshit as I kept swerving the other cars.
"Please don't crash my car." He repeated again, making me roll my eyes.
"Hey Jaden, do me a favour?" I asked as I kept my eyes on the road.
"What's that?"
"Go the fuck to sleep." I laughed as I heard him chuckle.
"Fine. I'll shut up." He mumbled.
"If it makes you feel better, we're close by anyway." I said as I looked back at the road.
"But we haven't even passed by a sign for the east side yet." He pointed out, sitting up properly in his seat.
"We're not driving into the east side in this car. We'll take the bus. I'm gonna park this car at my friends garage and make our way across." I explained as I pulled off the highway.
"We are not taking the bus." He demanded.
"I'm not giving you a choice. I'm dropping the car off. We'll take the keys with us, and then we get the bus. Look, I know it's not what the big fancy mafia man is used to, but it's different around here. You have to be so careful Jaden." I replied as I pulled into the garage.
"Ayo Benny! Where you at?" I shouted through the garage.
"Well, if it ain't Miss Mirriella Adams. How you doing little one?" He asked as he dropped down from the car lift.
"I'm doing great Benny, how are you? How's Nona?" I asked as I accepted the half hug.
"She's doing better now. She went into the hospital a few weeks ago, but she's stronger now and is due home tomorrow. I'm great, the workshop is great." He explained.
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry about that. But at least she's doing good again. But hey, you look healthy." I smiled as I patted his stomach.
"Yeah, well. But look at you. Where have you been all this time? You just stopped coming over, we thought you died." He smiled as he twirled me a little.
"Oh right. Jaden." I said as I turned to see him wearing a look that didn't tell me he was impressed. "Jaden, this is one of my closest friends Benny. Benny, this is my boyfriend Jaden. I've been living with him on the other side of the highway." I smiled as I pulled Jaden closer.
"I see he's a richy rich rich." He smirked, looking over the suit. "And he's hot. You did good Mirri. I'll give you that." He smirked.
