Mirriella pov
"Oh my god. Julie, you're an absolute life saver, I love you." I smiled as she brought out the watch.
It was one Celia saw last year when I took her for her birthday. I didn't have enough money to buy it for her last year so I asked Julie to reserve it for me. I though that she'd maybe have sold it already when I didn't come back to pay for it within a week, but she's held onto it for a whole year for me.
"Anything for you and Miss Cee Cee." She smiled as she wrapped in pink tissue paper and put it in the box. "And who is this you've brought with you? You don't normally have company on this day." She asked as she looked at Jaden who was stood behind me.
"Julie, this is my boyfriend Jaden. Jaden, this is Julie. She keeps an eye out on Celia for me when I'm not with her." I explained as I looked up at him.
"Nice to meet you." He smiled at her.
"You too. I can see you treat her well." She smiled back.
"I try."
"Well, you're doing a great job. Anyway, here you go Mirri. Wish her a happy birthday from me will you?" She asked as she handed me the bag.
"Of course I will. Thank you Julie." I took the bag and we left.
"Is that all?" Jaden asked as we walked down the street.
"There is one more thing. But we can get that in the corner shop by the bus stop." I shrugged as he grabbed a hold of my hand.
It didn't take us long to get near the bus stop. There was five minutes until her bus was due to pull up. It was 1:10, so she's been out of school for at least ten minutes by now. The trip from her school to this bus stop wasn't long.
"Hey Cecil." I smiled at the man behind the counter.
He was an older man. He was in his fifties now, but he still runs the local shop with his wife Livvy. He's always been nice to me, especially when I had no money, he would give me some of the food that was due to go out of date within the next few days, knowing he couldn't sell it.
"Well hello darling. Long time no see." He smiled as he looked up and saw me.
"Yeah, I thought it was high time I came back here." I smiled. "You remember what today is?" I asked as I picked up a little fake crown.
"Of course I do. It's that little girls birthday isn't it?" His memory isn't the greatest so I do like to test him sometimes.
"Yeah, it's Celia's birthday today." I smiled as I payed for the crown.
"Oh, let me go and get Livvy, I'm sure she'd love to see you." He smiled as he stood up.
"Oh Cecil, I would love to. But Celia's bus will pull up any minute now. I'm really sorry." I smiled guiltily at him.
"Well don't worry then sweetheart. Just make sure you come back soon. We were worried something had happened to you." He smiled as he patted the back of my hands.
"Of course I will. I'll come down and see you at some point in the next week." I smiled as I leaned over and kissed his cheek before walking out with Jaden.
"Everyone seems to know you around here." He smiled as he wrapped an arm around me.
"I tend to be a lot of places at once. I used to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time." I laughed as we stopped a few feet away for the bus stop.
"So, what's with the crown?" He asked as he looked down at the crown.
"It's for Celia. When she was little she would always ask me to buy her a crown from Cecil, and ever since then I just buy her one every year." I shrugged as I put it back in the bag.
I turned around and leant my back against his chest so I could face the bus stop. I felt him rest his chin on my head as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Just thought I'd warn you, she's a very bubbly person. Once she knows you're my boyfriend she will definitely try to hug you." I mentioned as I looked up at him.
"That's fine." He mumbled into my hair.
It wasn't long before the bus was pulling up. I saw Celia through the window, but she didn't see me. I watched as she got out, she looked up at where I was stood with sad look, thinking I wasn't going to be there. She looked back down before her head snapped back up when she realised I was stood there.
She shouted my name as she started running towards me. I gave Jaden the bag and stepped away from him as I moved closer to her. Our bodies collided with such a force that I almost fell over, but managed to regain my balance as I held her tightly.
"Oh my gosh. You came." She cried as she held on to me as tight as she could.
"I would never miss your birthday munchkin." I smiled as she pulled away.
"Where have you been? You've been gone for so long." She asked as I held her hands.
"I know baby. I know and I am so sorry. I didn't mean to stay as long as I did. But I'm here now, and I heard from a little birdie that it's someone's birthday today." I smiled as I turned back to Jaden to get the bag.
"Who's this?" She asked as she looked at him.
"This is my boyfriend Jaden." I answered.
"Do you live with him now?" She asked me, still looking at him.
"Yes I do love with him now, on the other side of the highway." I nodded.
"You live on the other side of the highway?" She asked him as she looked up at him and smiled.
"I do." He smiled back.
"That's so cool." She laughed as she hugged him without a warning.
