Jaden pov

"Go on. Go get your shoes and we'll go and see mommy." He shot up off my lap and ran off to his room.

I got up and walked out of my room, shutting the door and locking it. Something I've been doing ever since Remi allowed people in here without permission. I had my suit on, but I took my tie off because they are so fucking annoying.

I walked down the stairs and waited for Louie to come down. I was leant on the wall swinging around the keys for the truck on my finger. I looked up when the sudden sound of paws hitting the floor echoed through the room. I watched as Boxer, Blaze and Beaux all walked up the stairs. I mentally groaned at that because it meant-

"Hey Jaden." Yep, Mirri is behind them.

"Oh, hey." I half smiled as she looked up at me.

She was wearing an oversized t-shit and a pair of shorts. Her hair was up in a messy bun and she had her glasses on. She also had paint on her fingers so I'm assuming she's managed to find a spot on her wall that hasn't been painted.

"Where you off to?" She asked, pointing to the keys still hanging off my fingers.

"Out." I mumbled. She doesn't need to know. Not yet anyway.

"You okay? You seem out of it." She asked.

"I'll be fine when you fuck off." I snapped. She looked taken aback, but didn't say anything.

"Oh right. Well, have fun then." She shrugged as she walked up the stairs.

This is one of the things that amazes me about Mirri. If she sees something worth an effort, she won't leave, even when they're rude to her. She didn't necessarily like the way that I spoke to her or the fact that I'm hiding things, but she didn't say anything. Which then makes me feel bad because you can see the annoyance in her eyes.

"I'm ready." Louie said as he walked up to me, pulling on my shirt slightly to gain my attention.

"Come on then, let's go." I said as I opened the door to the garage.

He ran in and ran straight to the truck, not even asking what set of keys I had. I chuckled as I rolled my eyes and pressed the button. He cheered as the doors unlocked and he climbed up into the seat.

"Wait. I need to get your car seat. Give me a second." I quickly ran back inside to get the car seat from the kitchen.

"You're a dick." Someone said to me.

"Thanks Remi. Love you too." I said back sarcastically, not looking at her as I walked back to the garage.

"Better fucking not." I heard Stefan shout.

"Don't you have your own house? Why you always gotta be at mine for?" I asked him jokingly.

"Yours is bigger." He shrugged as he appeared in the doorway.

"My house isn't the only thing that's bigger." I teased before running back to the garage with him chasing me. "Not in the presence of my nephew, you psychopath." I shouted as he tried to pull me down.

"Fine. But your ass is getting beat when you get back. Where are you going actually?" He asked as he let go of me.

"We're-"

"We're gonna go see mommy." Louie cheered as I mentally groaned.

"Oh right. I'll leave you to it then." He smiled sympathetically before leaving.

"Come on then bud. Let's go." I put the seat in and buckled him in before jogging round to the drivers side.

I drove out of the garage and down to the gates. Louie found it fascinating that I had to do something different to get out of each gate. The first one I had to recite the number plate of the registered car I was in. All of my cars, Remi's, Stefan's, and Soph's car were the ones put into the system. The second gate I had to scan a card that would allow it to open. And the third gate I had to scan my finger print. When the last gate opened, I drove out and started our journey to the cemetery.

"Can we get mommy some flowers?" He asked me as we passed by a store.

"I guess we can get mommy some flowers." I shrugged as I turned around and drove to the store. "Come on then." He cheered and got out of the truck.

I watched as he ran ahead a little bit, but then ran back to me when he realised I hadn't locked the truck yet. He held my hand as we crossed the road and then stayed by my side as we walked into the store. When we got to the flower aisle, he walked a little away from me so he could pick out what ones he wanted.

"Can I get these ones? White was mommy's favourite." He asked as he held up a bundle of white roses.

"If you want those ones we can get those ones." I answered as I uncrossed my arms and held the flowers so he didn't accidentally grab the thorns.

"Can we also get mommy's favourite ice cream to eat afterwards?" He asked me in an innocent little voice.

"We can. But I already know that mommy's favourite ice cream is going to turn into Louie's favourite ice cream." I laughed as we walked over to the ice cream section.

"Hehe." He laughed out as he chose his ice cream.

"Is there anything else you want before we leave?" I asked him.

"Can mommy and I get matching bears?" He asked.

"Go choose your teddies then, but quickly cause it'll be your bedtime soon." I answered looking down at my watch, noticing it was already five o'clock.

"Okay." He said as he skipped over to where there were two small bears.

He picked out a white one for Soph and a brown one for himself. He walked over and handed it to me as we went to pay. The lady behind the counter scanned everything and ran up the total as Louie was organising the little counters at the end of the till.

"Your total is $18.91 do you want to donate anything to the children's trust charity?" She asked me as she continued to chew her gum obnoxiously loud.

"Sure." I got out my card and put in a total of $50.

She looked at me with wide eyes as I took the bag and walked out with Louie. We got back in the truck and drove off to the cemetery.
