Mirriella pov
"Do I have to go home?" She whined as we got off the train.
"Yes, you do." I laughed as I pulled her lightly to get her to start walking.
"But I wanna stay with you." She argued as she reluctantly started walking.
"I know you do. But sometimes you can't get everything that you want in life." I dismissed as Jaden wrapped his arm around me.
"But you did." She argued.
"What do you mean 'I did'?" I asked her, slowing down a little to look at her properly.
"You got to go and live on the other side of the highway, but yet I'm still stuck here. Why can't I be over that side?"
Because I got fucking kidnapped.
"I worked hard to get on the other side. If you work hard enough, you'll be able to live in a bigger house than Jaden. But until then, you have to stay here with your dad." I explained as we got to the bus stop.
"But dad's gotten scary again." She said as a few tears pricked her eyes.
"Give us just a second." I smiled at her before pulling Jaden away. "How long do we have until we need to be back?" I asked, knowing Stefan texted him a while ago.
"About an hour and a half. Why? What does 'gotten scary' mean?" He asked.
"It means he's back on some form of drugs again. I need to go and see him to sort him out. Can I do that?" I asked him, not wanting to prolong whatever Stefan needs to talk to him about.
"Of course you can princess. If needs be, I'll tell Stefan to push whatever he needs to say until the morning. He messaged me on his work phone so I know it's nothing personal." He explained as he kissed my forehead and walked back over to Celia with me.
"Look, Celia, we'll come back home with you to talk to your dad. Okay?" I explained as I sat down next to her.
"Okay." She mumbled as she hugged me.
The bus ride there was silent. I had Celia cuddled up into my side as I rested my one arm on her, and my other hand was linked with Jaden's as I leant my head on his shoulder. Every so often he would leave a kiss on my head and murmur something. I couldn't make out what he was saying but I knew it wasn't anything of importance because if it was he would've repeated it when he realised I didn't hear him.
"Come on Cee, we're here." I nudged the almost sleeping child as we pulled up at her stop.
She groaned and stood up, following me and Jaden off. We walked into the apartment building and made our way up to their door. She realised she had left her keys and had to knock.
"Where have you been? Do you know what time it is?" He asked her as he opened the door. He wasn't shouting, which was a shock.
"Sorry dad, I was out with Mirri." She answered as she pushed past him into the flat.
"Hi Daniel." I half smiled at him.
"Oh, hi Mirriella." He mumbled as he walked away from the door, leaving it open. "What it is that you want this time?" He asked as he flopped down on the sofa.
"No, there's nothing I want Daniel. I just came to see how you were. That's all." I lied, trying to pretend.
"Oh well- I'll be fucking damned. Is that Jaden Hossler I see stood there? What you doing down here mate? Last time I heard, this place was scum." He spat as he noticed Jaden stood behind me.
"Don't worry about me Daniel, focus on your sister." Jaden cleared his throat as he stuck his hands in his pockets.
"Celia, go to your room, please." I asked.
"Okay. Night Mirri." She smiled as she hugged me.
"Goodnight baby." I smiled as I hugged her back.
"Please don't disappear for too long this time." She whispered to me.
"I won't, I promise." I whispered back as I kissed her forehead.
I watched as she walked away down the hall. I waited until the door shut to look back between the two.
"What the fuck is going on?" I asked Daniel.
"What the fuck is my little sister doing with a drug dealer?" Daniel asked.
"H-how do you know that?" I asked him.
"Oh Mirriella. Poor, sweet, innocent, fragile Mirriella." He taunted as he stood up and got in my face. "Who do you think I got my ket from?" He asked as he looked me directly in my eyes.
I felt my heart sink. I knew that Jaden was a drug lord, but I hate the fact that he supplied my brother. I hate the fact that my brother is like this because of him and his mafia.
"Daniel, why are you back on that shit? Again?" I asked him, ignoring what he said before.
"Why the fuck not Mirriella? It's fun and a useful waste of my time." He laughed as he went to the fridge to get a beer.
"Do you not remember what that shit did to you? What it forced you to do to me? I have still have deep fucking scars because of you Daniel. Do you really want that for Celia?" I asked him as he slammed down his beer on the counter.
"Are you implying I'm gonna hurt my own daughter? I'd protect her with my fucking life Mirriella. So what the fuck makes you think that I'm gonna hurt her?" He shouted at me.
"Because once upon a fucking time you used to say that about me Daniel. You used to say that you'd protect me with your life. You used to say that it would be us forever. Because god fucking knows mom wasn't going to be there and dad was too busy working to care. You made me think all of those things and yet in a fucking instant you took a knife to me. A piece of glass to me. Fuck, Daniel you used to carve letters into me with broken pens. All because of those little white bags. So yes, I am implying that you are going to hurt your own daughter, your own flesh and fucking blood if you fall too far down that rabbit hole." I shouted back at him, my voice strained.
He stayed silent for a minute or so. Taking in what I said. He sighed and stood up. He went through the cabinets and pulled out a box. He took out a total of twelve white bags and threw them at me.
"There you go. Your fucking boy toy can get his product back. Don't come here again Mirriella." He mumbled as he walked away from us.
I bent down and picked up the bags. I walked over to Jaden and held them against his chest. He took them and I walked away.
"Mirri-"
"Please don't." I whispered as I continued walking.
He seemed to have got the message that I didn't want to talk just yet and stayed silent, just walking beside me instead.
