This will probably be close to the actual Destiny Islands play part of the game, with a few tweaks here and there. I also forgot-
This story goes out to my good friend Walshy on discord, who spent 7 hours on a call with me while creating this!

Sora sat up with a yawn. He stretched, and then laid back, only to find Kairi staring down at him.

He jumped back as Kairi giggled.

Sora huffed. "C'mon, gimme a break, Kairi."

"Sora, you lazy bum. I knew that I'd find you snoozing down here."

"No, I swear, there was this big black thing that swallowed me up, I couldn't breathe, I couldn't-" he stopped as Kairi bonked him on the head.

"Are you still dreaming?" Kairi asked teasingly.

Sora opened his mouth to protest, but no words appeared in his mind to come to his rescue.

Grudgingly, he decided it was better to change the subject. After pondering over what he could talk about, he said, "say, Kairi. What was your hometown like? You know, where you grew up?"

"Hm.." Kairi looked deep in thought, staring at the water. "It was.. very pretty. I had a grandma there, and she would tell me this story." She chuckled, sounding nostalgic. "There was a lot of flowers, which I would pick from time to time."

"What was the story about?" Sora prompted.

Kairi then giggled. "I've told you before, I don't remember."

"Nothing at all?"

"Nothing. But- I wouldn't mind going back! It would be nice to see my old home."

"Do you at least remember its name?" Sora pondered.

"No, and that's what bugs me. It seems that I can remember almost every other thing besides the name."

"Well, I see I'm the only one working on the raft." Sora groaned as he heard Riku's voice. He turned around, and Riku tossed him a log.

Sora let out a small scream as the log headed straight for him, and he tensed, his hands straight up to catch it.

Luckily, it landed in his arms, but the sudden pain made him grit his teeth.

Riku approached Kairi. "And you! You're just as lazy as he is."

"Hehe, so you noticed." Kairi stood up, dusting off her skirt. "Okay, we'll finish it together! But first..." she paused for a dramatic affect, pointing at Sora and Riku. "I challenge you both to a race."

"What?" Riku sounded exasperated. "But I just sat down!"

Ignoring Riku's snarky comment, Sora bounced up and looked at Kairi challengingly. "You're on!" He said, though it was rather loud. On Kairi's cue, the three friends took off running towards the door to the race course.

As they ran, Sora heard the wind rush past his ear. The sensation was similar to that of playing on a swing, he noticed.

Snapping back into reality, he saw that they were definitely going to tie for first.

And he was right, all three of them tied. Sora collapsed on the sand, out of breath. He didn't see where Riku had gone, but Kairi was standing there waiting for him, a smile clear on her lips.

Sora picked himself up, dusted off his clothes, and walked over to her.

"We're short on some materials. I need you to go look for.." She pondered over it, tapping her chin. When she had finally figured it out, she said, "a rope, a cloth, and two logs. Can you do that?"
