Day 358

Ikrux stepped through a Corridor that Roxas had created.

He didn't recognize the world on the other side.

When Roxas appeared at his side, he asked, "what is this world?"

Roxas huffed quietly. "Welcome to Traverse Town."

"Tra-verse Town?" Ikrux pondered.

"It's a- um- world I know." He responded.

Ikrux breathed out, shocked to see his breath puff in front of him.

"Yeah, it's cold here a lot. Since it's always night."

Roxas started moving towards a building, and Ikrux scampered after him.

The world had a feel of abandonment and it seemed empty.

The air seemed a bit stale and unmoving.

Ikrux felt a bit frightened by how abandoned the place felt.

They walked past a building labeled, "Accessory Shop" and an idea sparked for Ikrux.

He glanced down and huffed.

He didn't know how Roxas would feel about it.

Nonetheless, Ikrux swallowed back his fear, and twined his hand with Roxas'.

Roxas stopped walking and stared at him.

There was that look again.

The same look that was in his eyes before they had kissed.

Ikrux couldn't turn away from Roxas' eyes though.

There was something so magnetic about them.

Roxas broke eye contact and muttered something inaudible.

"Did you say something?" Ikrux asked.

"Hm? Uh- yes." Roxas's eyes widened. "I- I mean no."

"Is something wrong?"

Roxas shrugged. "I'm just- I haven't been here in a while. A lot of memories are resurfacing, is all. And not a lot of them are good."

"Well, you have me. Nothing will happen to you as long as I'm here."

Roxas smiled. "Thank you, Ikrux."

Ikrux smiled too.

Whenever Roxas smiled, it was contagious.

They started walking again, and Roxas swung their hands back and forth a little.

The small gesture made Ikrux feel a lot better.

They passed a stand, and then walked through some huge doors into the "Second District"

-----------------------------------------------------------

Roxas tried to shake off his nerves.

Sure, him and Ikrux had held hands before.

But this time felt different.

Against the cold and still atmosphere of Traverse Town, it felt warm.

Like hope, almost.

It seemed that whenever Ikrux smiled, it made Roxas's whole day brighter.

It was funny, despite his innate abilities with darkness, he seemed to provide the most light in Roxas' life.

As they kept walking through the Second District, Roxas's thoughts drifted back and forth to Ikrux.
