Kairi's chest heaved up and down.

And within those few, peaceful moments, her sleep was shattered like glass.

Something nudged her.

Her eyes opened slowly, taking time to adjust to the ever brutal sun.

And it seemed that since they were in the desert, it was worse.

Which made sense, since there wasn't much covering.

She stood up and stretched with a loud yawn.

Even the air was hot.

"Should we head back?" Riku asked.

Kairi shrugged in response. "We could quickly do a perimeter check. Despite Jafar being gone, that doesn't mean that this world doesn't still carry remnants of the darkness."

She turned towards the wall, which, oddly enough, carried a message.

Her head tilted to the side as she read it.

It read:
"Dear Riku and Kairi,
I've just come to check on you two, so don't worry. While you slept, Abu and Carpet made sure that there weren't any intruders.
And, earlier this morning, I brought you guys some food in a basket!
You two probably needed some food, anyway.
I also left some other items, for your trip.

- Aladdin"

"Oh, how nice of him." Kairi smiled.

She scooted past Riku and picked up the small basket on the floor.

It contained a loaf of bread, two apples, a warm, small bowl of rice(along with utensils), and some ceramic jugs of water, along with a few potions, elixirs, and ethers.

"Yeah, he gave us plenty of stuff." Riku commented. "Maybe if we're gonna stay for a bit longer, we can save some for later."

"Good idea."

Kairi stared down at the marketplace of Agrabah with a sigh.

Everything seemed so different.

She looked over her shoulder, where she saw Riku.

She stifled a laugh when she saw him bargaining an apple with Abu.

"No, you can't just take it." Riku pulled the apple back away from the small monkey, who protested.

Abu shook his paws, bouncing back and forth with a screeching noise.

"You can have it, if I can have ten munny."

Abu screeched again. He dropped some coins on the floor.

Riku chuckled, "thank you."

Abu expressed his gratitude by swiping the apple from Riku's hand, and then jumping away.

Before he left Aladdin's old house, however, he stuck his tongue out, crossing his eyes and babbling.

"Hey!" Riku barked. He ran over to Abu and swiped at him.

But the small monkey had leapt down into the marketplace.

Kairi chuckled. "Should have asked him for at least fourty."

Riku scoffed. "Nah, I don't wanna be asking for too much."

With a content exhale, Kairi watched the commotion down in the marketplace.
