Tied down to the past and
Scared of the future- New world, IU
Starting all over again, this is the phase where we are at right now, just gently tiptoeing one's territory as we try to see if it's alright to take another step.
It's like rebuilding fallen dominoes after building them for hours, the agony of creating something that you have built before was tiresome.
"Good morning" his voice brushed past me, I think the wind blowing was much louder than his voice.
After much deliberation, I answered him, baby steps were all circling in my mind.
"Morning"
I then sat down on my seat while he did the same, the class was then filled with rowdy students loudly chatting about their win at yesterday's battle. Looking at the window one can see the students running past as their bags juggled on their back, teachers just languidly making their way to their office as I scroll on my phone, continuing to read the book I was reading last night.
Our Mapeh teacher, Mrs. Aloyo with her noticeable mole on the top of her upper lip and her metallic brown rebonded hair came and announced that we'll be grouped into five for a Zumba routine that we will be performing this next week.
The number starts and I was in group 2, the same as Eric and Meryl. I went to their group silently, Meryl was holding my arm closely as she gets in between me and Eric even though there's three-person away from me.
(AN: Mapeh is a subject in the Philippines meaning Music, Art, PE, and health)
"I don't know how to dance"
"Neither do I" I retorted back and couldn't help but watch Eric as he chatted with his friend.
Even if we started to talk again, I still feel that we weren't really talking, I'm just distancing myself from him more under the pretense of having some time to think about his embarrassing presence in my life.
I still feel myself questioning when he's gonna end things again and when this thing is gonna last if we even have a thing anymore.
"Ange you be the Secretary"
"Me? Why should I?" I was suddenly called and tasked with a role I don't even know was being given to me.
"Cause your handwriting is good"
I just snorted at or leader and proceeds to ask for a one-fourth sheet of paper and dismissed Eric's side, when no one gave me I turn on my back and proceeds to take a whole sheet of paper on me to create one.
"Here"
I lift my head and saw Eric handing me one-fourth piece of paper then murmured thank you underneath my breath. Then I started to write the names of our members and passed them on to our Mapeh teacher.
After that, our leader stated that after class ended, none of our members should peace since we needed to practice dancing Magsayawan, the music that we voted for.
(AN: Magsayawan meaning Let's dance is a song of VST and one of the most famous songs in the Philippines. We also did a Zumba dance covering this song)
Soon, classes ended, and our leader roared out her anger from the members that left without permission as well as those who tried to leave even though we have practice.
"You three just leave early, we would have to stay here late," I said to the three of them, Alyssa was with her boyfriend and it was a dark fleshy-skinned guy who seems gentle.
"Okay then, take care okay!" I nodded and watched them leave before meeting eyes with some guy.
I notice him stealing glances from me in the past week but I didn't feel any malice hidden in his eyes though it still did weird me out.
