Chapter 88

Georgia was a chill person, savage, and also serious at her work from what I have observed. We have become close with her due to the activity that our teacher, Sir. Benji gave us and that was the start of friendship we never thought we needed.

Now everyone was about to piss their pants off, we only have half an hour to our declamation and I find my hands in which Georgia quoted as me having the ability of a water bender due to the amount of water that releases itself from my palm.

"God, could you be louder Emil?" Jamie shouts, her tone snarky. I mean Emil's voice was the mix of a pig being killed and a cat fighting with another cat at this moment.

"Sorry Jamie~" he was about to hug her but she elbowed him in her stomach making him groan in pain.

I, on the other hand, focus myself on reciting and it was going well but I know it won't be anymore the moment I step on the podium.

The moment we heard that there's a podium and light focused on you we all groaned out loud. It's like our embarrassing moment was even more shameful with all these elaborate details and the audience listening to us.

"Alex, Georgia, Espe, and Angelica it's now your turn," one of our classmates said as he returned from our room.

"I'm finished ah!"

"F*cking hell"

"Ughhhh!"

Those were some of our responses, we can only go down to the 1st floor where we are about to face students we do not know of and say something boring that they hundred percent do not listen to. Just freaking great.

It was Espe's turn at first and I could see her hands trembling from the side, we were standing outside with the Oslo paper that looks like it was fit for wiping shit and murmuring words as if we were concocting a spell.

"How was it espe?" I went to her side and she just sat there looking blankly and dazed.

"It was terrible," she says after a minute or so, I just felt my heart beating so fast at that moment and mirroring her expression right now.

"At least you're finished now, you can now relax," Alex says, biting her nails in nervousness while Georgia went in and we cheered for her.

Then it was my turn after the three of them finished and I just wanted to run away from here but was rooted in my spot.

"Come on ange! You can do it!" They encouraged me from behind and I tried to absorb it all and step inside the classroom.

Unfamiliar faces with their eyes looking me up and down like a lab doctor to a lab rat. Murmurs erupted like mosquitoes buzzing in my ear. I felt my heart tightening up from nervousness and my palm slightly cooling.

I tried to imagine that they were just cabbages on the farm but to no avail, my nervousness took over me.

"Hello everyone, my name is Angelica and I hope that all of you listen to my speech" at this point my greeting was flawless, and at the beginning of my recitation, I find myself being smooth.

Then it just so happen that I caught the eyes of the student below me, it was clear that they were uninterested and didn't clearly listen to me. I find myself relaxing and beginning to find my voice unlike the fake enthusiastic tone from the beginning.

Thankfully I managed to cover up my mistakes and if I didn't remember the next sentence I went to the next sentence. I find myself bowing to the class and ending the speech with a big smile and thanking them all for listening to me even if they really didn't.

"Good job ange!" Alex says and espe also moved beside me and said congratulations.

"I good you that you can do it," Georgia says in the end and I thanked all of them.

Then it was some of our friends that were next in line and we all went up to tell them. Classes ended and Eric came to our class and handed me a bar of chocolates in different forms.

"What's this for?" I look at the chocolate in confusion, it's not our month or my birthday.

"To cheer you up" he must have seen the confusion on my face and explained thoroughly. "Didn't you tell me that you have a speech going on yesterday? That's for cheering you up in case you feel sad about your performance though I doubt it"

I almost say the word 'Aw' and decided to just hug him for doing this. He good me yesterday that he believed in my ability and perseverance. He also told me that if I was not satisfied with what I have done that he'll compensate me with chocolates to uplift my mood.

"Tell me, why are you so sweet! Did you do something wrong?!" I decided to mess with him a little bit and it left me chuckling seeing his bewildered face.

"I did not!"

"Really?" I narrowed my eyes and pursed my lips making him sigh.

"Why do girls have good sense? Fine, I did go out to drink with my friends without telling you"

"What?!" I pinched him in his arm as he yelled in pain. "Did you drink Eric! You lawless guy! Are you even legal to drink yet!"

"I am!" He reasoned out and I slap him in the back of his head.

"You're short of five months, idiot!"

He just ran before I could place my hand on his making me tell him to stop which he didn't. This rebellious kid.
