Chapter 55

After that fiasco my mother wouldn't let me out of the room, thank goodness we're in a closed space or else my brothers would march to Eric's house, and the two of us continued our conversation in a hush manner.

"So what's his name? What grade is he in? Is he good to you? How long have you been together?"

"Wait Ma, relax, your opponent is weak" she just snorted and I begin to answer her. "He's Eric and he's my classmate, he's very good to me and always cares for my well-being and..." I trailed off at that time, I'm not sure if I wanted to tell the truth to her after all I was in a forbidden relationship for almost half a year.

Almost half a year, that's long and I haven't told anyone in my immediate family about my relationship and current status.

"And? And what?" She was getting impatient and I just bit the bullet and fired off.

"We'vebeentogetherforhalfayear" I felt my tongue getting tangled at first and I just repeated it slowly after seeing her frowning at me. "We've been together for half a year"

"You-"

"I'm sorry ma!" I immediately held my hand to my face and then peeked into my fingers after not feeling any hit on my body.

I heard her sigh and I felt guilty, I promised her and dad that I would only get myself a boyfriend once I turned eighteen and I broke it.

"It's already done, what else should I do? Break you two apart?" I paled at that point and looked at her in horror, Mom looks completely serious and I panicked at that time.

"You're not serious right?"

"I'm just joking! What do you take me for a villainous mother who wanted to separate the two lovers, huh? It only happens in movies!" 

I can only laugh nervously, still unsure of my mother's reaction and finally my heart settled after seeing her being calm and not getting her slipper away from her feet to slap it on me.

"Just make sure to care for yourself okay? Don't do things you aren't supposed to do!"

"Mom!" I never felt so embarrassed talking about my relationship with a boy in front of my mother, except for the moments where she would tell me how I used to cry whenever she will leave me at the kindergarten.

"What?" She barked and I can only stay quiet. "Remember this, if you dare do you know- I would beat you to death!" She threatens and I nodded at her, even if she didn't tell me I wouldn't do it anyway. Besides we're still students, I'm not crazy to let love rot my brain.

"Your mother knew about me?"

Eric was shocked to hear that and I could see the panic in his eyes. He knew that I wasn't permitted to date boys if wasn't in the legal age yet, he has always felt guilty as well as I for not being recognized for our relationship by our parents.

"Don't worry, she's calm about it, she has accepted you" I calm his anxiety down though I'm not sure if my brothers would accept him.

"I'll tell my parents about our relationship as well, it won't just be you worrying over our relationship" he promised and I just smiled but I know I would panic the same way he is right now since he hasn't seen my mother's reaction firsthand.

"Okay, I'll be waiting for that, tell them that you have the most beautiful, the kindest, and loveliest girlfriend in the world!" I giggled at the end and he just pinches my nose slightly which I swatted.

"Okay, I'll tell my parents those"

"You- I'm just joking! You better not say those words or I'll beat you!" I showed him my muscles and he just snickered on the side but still agreed.

Anyways, it would be my birthday this following month, I'll be eighteen soon.
