A/n: hello beautiful people.
This part starts off immediately after the prologue which is in fact before Chris and Court helped Marianna escape her engagement. The story will steadily follow Courtney's and Christopher's POVs from the moment they rescued Marianna to the point Belucci took her from the motel. After that depending on how the plot plays out, there may be a jump in time. Maybe... Let's just go with it.
Loving your enthusiasm for this book. I believe we all need a light moment because of the madness I have been preparing for another special book!
So let's get to it!
Court's POV
I seriously meant to purchase a ticket. I seriously did. I'm not a freeloader. I have been raised to earn privileges and to equate every service for a fee. Daddy says nothing is free. But this trip will be free.I lost... no. I was robbed yesterday by a good looking man who distracted me enough for his swift buddy to make away with the little bag that had all my travel documents and the money I have saved so far to liberate myself from my suffocating parents.
This trip in the blue train has been part of my bucket list across Asia. I have two more stops before I decide where to go to next. Without any cash on me, it will be hard. But I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Nothing good comes from overthinking.
There's a man checking tickets. He's standing right in front of the entrance. I can't get past him without a ticket. I'm not like my bestie who can bat her eye lashes and get through doors. I lack the charm.
When I recalled the toy snake in my bag, I smiled wickedly. I confiscated it from a little boy who threw it at me and thought it was funny. Perhaps it may work. What do I have to lose? I reached into the backpack and easily caught the slippery thing. When I was certain no one was looking my way, I dropped the black and white thing smack in the middle of the group of people trying to board the train.
"Snake!" I screamed causing a mad panic as people ducked and dived to escape the toy. The man checking the tickets wasn't an exception. He even screamed to my own amusement. I boarded the train hastily but it was just too easy when I bumped into another man dressed in the same blue uniform.
"Ticket-" I sneaked under his spread arms and made a run for it. I lost a bag along the way and eventually another when a third man snatched it off my back while trying to stop me.
Of all the crazy things I have done in my life, forcefully boarding s train is not one of them. My heart was thudding hard as I feared I would be caught and thrown out when I spotted a man standing by the entrance of a door. All I could read was the word private in golden words. Without s second thought, I grabbed hold of him and I kissed him.
This is a bad habit. I don't plan ahead. I jump first then I figure out where I'll land. I was completely surprised when he indulged me, kissing me back with much passion. So strangers kiss like this? So strangers kiss at all? Why the bloody hell does it feel right? He suddenly pulled away his blue eyes wide with surprise.
"Girlfriend." I gave him the first word in out script. He better comply.
His confusion faded fast when the ticket men arrived. "May I help you?" The script goes on! I like this guy. He's getting it.
"She is not supposed to be in this train. She doesn't have a ticket."
"She does." I definitely like him. "Why would my girlfriend not have a ticket? I requested that the train be delayed because she was running late and your people refused!"
