Christopher's POV
"Chris!" Tommy called after me. "Chris!""Not now dude. I'm busy." I went to the back of the jeep.
"You kidnapped an Ambassador's daughter! How do you think that is going to play out?"
"Not well obviously but she's my wife. It's not kidnapping. I just took her. She belongs to me. She's Mrs St Patrick. That's my name. My wife. Mine."
"And you will hide here?"
"I'm not hiding. If Hale wants to come over for a cup of tea then fine. But he's not taking my wife from me." I informed Tommy. "Not without a fight."
"I'm the one who does crazy things! Not you! You're the sensible sibling! What is happening here?"
"There's nothing sensible when you love a woman madly Tommy."
"You have lost your mind."
"That I agree. Go. I don't want you to get caught up in this shit storm. The driver will probably mention you were there. If you are asked, cooperate. Tell on me. Go."
He eventually left.
I stared at the trunk. As soon as I open this, all hell will break lose. I know Court. She's my little hellcat. I'm going to get a beating. When I popped it open, her fist met my nose.
I cursed out as I watched her scrambling away.
"Courtney!" I ignored the little drops of blood from my nose. I chased after her. She kept throwing stones and branches at me as she ran through the woods. Getting tired of this little exercise, I tackled her down to the ground. This feisty little thing is determined to escape. She dug her fingers into the soil just to make an attempt to crawl away. "Courtney stop! You're hurting yourself!"
She elbowed my face.
"Get away from me!" She kicked me right in the balls.
"Courtney!" I groaned as I tried to stand up. I gripped a tree and growled out loud in frustration.
I'm subduing her if it's the last thing I do!
I followed her with a higher determination to catch her. When I did, no amount of kicking, punching, screaming or cursing deterred me. I carried her back to the little house. I set her on the floor and she kicked me again. This time I caught her fist but her foot went right for my crotch again.
I fell to my knees. I expected her to run but she didn't.
"Courtney I'm sorry."
"Listen carefully Chris. I'm leaving. I'm borrowing your car. You can walk home."
"Stay the night. Just one night please. I'm not expecting your forgiveness but if I'm to be punished, at least let me have you tonight."
She slammed the door shut.
I think I have lost my mind. Tommy is right. This won't end well for me.
I heard the jeep start and in moments, it's sound faded in the background. I got up and managed to stand on my feet. I hope we will laugh about this some day but for now it's not funny.
I heard the jeep again.
Is she coming back?
My answer burst through the door with a baseball bat. "You chose that wench over me!" She took a swing at me but I dodged it.
"Honey I'm sorry. I didn't choose her! It was a momentary distraction from my foolishness-" She hit me across my torso. Why is she so strong and she's that little? "Foolishness... on my part baby, I'm sorry. Stop swinging the bat!"
