Courtney's POV
I don't get that many opportunities to go out. If I'm not dead beat, I'm being a mom. If not bring a mom, I'm in between home and college trying to get through my final year. A lot of times I don't hear anything in class because I'm wondering if Bruce needs anything. I love my little munchkin. I don't see my existence without him in my arms. To avoid worrying about him, I sometimes bring him to college but I leave him with the nanny in the car. That way I can check on him every other time.

This is one of those days he has come to college with me.

I'm just about done with class.

Some of the girls I used to be friends with are having a graduation party. They are graduating and they invited me. I'm not keen on it. I can't drink. Bloody hell, I miss whiskey.

I rolled my eyes when my watch beeped and the professor just kept going on and on. I can l ave if I want to. The class should be over. But if I do and I miss something, I'll fail my exam. I want to graduate before Bruce is a year old. I want to reclaim my life from this pause. It's not a bad pause but what happens when Bruce gets to an age he doesn't need me to be around as much? I'll be a bored housewife. I'm not good at being a housewife. I want to be an engineer. That's the plan.

As soon as the class was over I was the first one out the door.

While hurrying down the hallway, the professor called my name. I stopped quickly. "Sir?"

"For a moment there I thought you dropped out."

"I just took a break." I told him.

His eyes caught the wedding ring on my finger. "That break. But you're back now, right? You're one of mh most promising students. There's potential in you and it's not just you're excellent grades but your skillfulness in the trade. I can get you into a program that will make use of your skills."

"I'd be glad to."

"Wonderful. Have you heard of the St Patrick Group?"

"I have."

"Their engineering program is top notch. They have a contract with the government for weapons and it doesn't just stop there. You have a lot to learn."

My husband is the CEO.

"It will be quite an opportunity. I'm looking forward to it."

"Look! There's someone who can help us. Mr Finlay!"

It's the same Mr Finlay who works as a lawyer for the St Patricks. This world is shrinking. As soon as th old man set his eyes on me he smiled. "Well! Mrs St Patrick! It's nice to see you!"

"Mrs St Patrick?" My professor wondered out loud.

"I'm married to Christopher St Patrick, the CEO of the St Patrick Group."

"And I'm busy trying to get you a job! How embarassing!"

"I appreciate the thought. Excuse me."

"Courtney, wait..." Mr Finlay caught up. He waved at the professor. "I though he was coming on to you so I called you by your married name. These college professors can be perverts. I hope no such thing was going on."

"No. Nothing like that. He takes keen interest in excelling students. He was offering to get me a job at the St Patrick Group."

"You can get a job there. No interviews needed."

"I qualify by marriage." I laughed.

"Yes dear you do!"

"Have you met Bruce?"
