Christopher's POV
Protocol. The male in question meets a girl. Check. That was two years ago in the blue train and it was quite a meeting because we made out before exchanging names. It's just one of the reasons I didn't imagine she would be a virgin. The way she behaves is not green! She knows things and dies things most virgins don't!
The male expresses his interest in the girl. Check. I think I was hinting it at the motel when we shared that little bed. When I saw her again, I told her I love her.
If the girl accepts, not checked at first but eventually checked after a lot of persistence on my end.
If the girl accepts, at the male introduces her to the General Major for a thorough vetting. Check. I introduced Court to my dad on the night of the award ceremony. Has he vetted her? I don't know.
If the General Major finds no fault with the girl, the male in question presents himself to the girl's parents for her father's approval. Check. I already talked to her father. He didn't agree to a marriage but I can get him there. What matters most is that he approves a relationship.
Once the approval is received, the male in question marries the girl. Not check. I smiled at tbe sight of the beautiful diamond ring in the box. I owe Frank money for this. He recused to sell me the first one I chose. He said it's small and insignificant. He picked this one and I fell in love with it. The problem is it's a million or two beneath the Freya Nora Diamond. I can't afford this unless I take over the St Patrick Group. He said it's a gift. It's too expensive to be a gift. He insisted his friend has to look good in front of him potential in laws. At that point I lost the debate but I am still paying him back. I want to propose to Court in Lake Tahoe when we go there for thanksgiving. I'll do it in front of our parents.
Only then, with the girl bearing the male's name does the male father children with her. This is a grey area. It has come to my attention that the last dozen times or so that I have been with Court, no protection has been used. The first time, I didn't want to pass off th chance by looking for protection. It's not that I even had it on me. I was so engrossed in it and I didn't pull out. It was the same the second time. After that I started pulling out and eventually, I'm using protection. She seems fine. I don't want to ask her if she's had her period. She will throw a wrench at me. Things like that can't be hidden. If it has happened it will show.
I closed the ring box.
Her father passed me a shot gun.
I blindfolded Court to lure her to her parent's house.
"You did not tell her, did you?" The Ambassador caught on as soon as he saw his daughter in a blindfold. "Pull!"
A clay paler flew into the air an he shot it.
"She wouldn't have come if I did. I don't tell her everything I plan to do."
"Like the ring you were looking at just before I showed up?"
I gave him a crooked smile. "Pull!" I called out and shot the next clay plate.
Ge signalled the man operating the machine to take a break. "Can I see it?"
I checked to make sure Court is not seeing us. We faced the trees. I showed him the impeccable ring. His expression said it all. He's pleased. "I love it. You have great taste Christopher!"
Francis has great taste where jewelry is concerned. "Thank you sir. Pull!" I shot at another clay plate but I missed. "Shit! I want to propose."
Nate said it's easier to ask for an apology than permission. He said tge Ambassador won't be able to do anything if I marry his daughter without his consent but he will stop ne if I ask for permission. I will lose his trust and respect if I go about it Nate's way. Telling him and not asking him is my way.
