Christopher's POV
I'm trying my best not to lose my mind.Every touch, every kiss, every embrace feels like the last for me. The imminent goodbye we are about to share is ripping me apart. I pressed my lips on her bare back. She's still trembling from our climax. When the lightning flashed I got to see her dainty frame still on the bed. She's lying on her stomach. "Court."
"Hmmm." She turned over to lie on her back.
The power went out a few hours ago and till now it's still dark. The lightning provides the occasional light but we don't need it. We can still make love in the dark. It's way better.
"Are you alright?"
"You devil!" She sighed. "I'm so weak because of you."
We haven't been quiet. It's my hope that the rumbling thunder muffled our cries for pleasure. We haven't held back from the moment we snuck away from the lively reception downstairs. Even with candles, our families could not contain their excitement.
"I know." My hand slipped in between. My fingers reached for her soaked center. "Hey."
She quivered arching her back up. Her peaked tips beckoned me to claim one. I stroked my beautiful wife drawing a quick one out of her. I want to hold onto to everything we have done tonight for every night I will be alone. I want to remember her sweet taste, her whimpers of pleasure, the way she calls my name when she can't stop arching her feet. I want to remember the way her lips slide against mine when we kiss. I want to remember her in great detail.
"Chris!"
"Yes Mrs St Patrick." I kissed her neck stroking her deeper. "What is it?"
"Uh... Aha!" She tried to sit up. She tried to turn over but I remained relentless in pleasing my wife. "Christopher!" She screamed as her climax followed. I didn't stop until she couldn't move anymore. "Enough baby, please. No more."
"Are you sure? It will be two years before we do this again."
She sighed and it wasn't the good kind. "Two..." She sniffled and she started crying. I drew her close to my body.
"I'm so sorry Court. It's our wedding night and this weight should not be hanging over us."
"It's not your fault." She took my hand lacing my fingers with hers tightly. She kissed my palm. "Duty calls. I respect that. We will be okay."
"I'm sure my mother will watch out for you."
"I don't mean... Yes she will. I trust she will."
I would like to see her face.
In an hour or so, it will be time for me to leave. I don't want to leave. I pulled her even closer.
We stayed in comfortable silence. The dark skies are getting lighter. Dawn is coming. I played with the ring on her finger. She committed to me. She's my wife. I'm the happiest man alive and at the same time, the most troubled one because who leaves a young wife so soon after the wedding? Hours is all we have had together.
A quick knock at the door broke the comfort shared between us.
I covered her up. I pulled on my pants before I opened the door. "Major."
"I'm sorry to interrupt but it's almost time. Can I steal you?"
"Yes sir you can." I answered and stepped out. He has a torch in hand. The power is still out. "Have you gotten any sleep?"
"We partied all night on your behalf so that we can sleep all day." He chuckled. "The papers. All they need is you signature ."
"Ah yes!" He gave them to me last night. I was to sign them but I didn't. I just wanted one thing; to make love to Courtney. "I'll get to it before I leave-"
