A/n: hello!

As I'm putting together some adjustments on the plot of Never Too Late, I'll be adding updates on this book.

Enjoy!

Lucille's POV
Coop isn't speaking to me.

I wish it was one of those times I could possibly say I don't know why he is mad but I do.

Even after I found out that Allegra's daughter is ours, I still can't warm up to them. Maybe it's my undying loyalty to Courtney. From the word go, I was only looking forward to one grandchild; Christopher's baby.

Tommy and I had a spat.

It was more than a spat. I threw a glass bowl at him. He dodged it but he almost attacked me in retaliation had it not been for Coop's intervention. I don't approve of what he's doing. I don't approve of his plans. His relationship with Allegra is beyond disturbing! How can he get together with his brother's ex? How can they sleep in the same room? How is it not pissing off Coop? What is next? A wedding?

"Mrs St Patrick," the only maid who was brave enough to longer around when Tommy and I were at each other's necks checked on me. I'm still picking up broken glass. "Miss Allegra would like to say her goodbyes."

Yes, Coop is not speaking to me because Tommy has decided to leave and he is taking his girls with him. Coop warmed up to the little girl as soon as he held her. Everyday after work has been spent in the nursery with the little girl. I singlehandedly ripped that away and he's mad.

"Tell her goodbye. I'm busy." I loved this bowl. It was silly looking gift from Court. I hate yellow but since she bought me the yellow gumboots, she thinks I like yellow. I'm starting to like yellow. I sat on the floor thinking about her. I feel like I lost Chris and now a daughter I have come to love. "Don't. Help me up."

She pulled me to my feet.

"Your arm." She noticed the cut.

"It's just a cut. I'll at least try to be a good host even if it's at the very end." I strolled out of the kitchen into the living room. She's holding the little girl. Tommy has one foot out of the door. "Allegra, thanks for visiting. Take care."

"Mrs St Patrick," she called me when I was going back to the kitchen. "I'm sorry about this mess. This is not how it was supposed to be but Aubrey is yours too and you shouldn't punish her for my mistakes. Do you want to hold her before we leave?"

I'm a horrible horrible horrible being. How can I be so cold towards them? Allegra's is not a bad person. I'm sure Tommy took advantage of her.

I faced the young mother. She has been here for five weeks. She's just about healed. I opened my arms to hold my granddaughter. She's just too beautiful. She's perfect. "I'm sorry for not holding you enough." I kissed her forehead. "As for you Allegra, be careful with him."

I glared at Tommy.

"Let's go." Tommy led her out.

The sound of the Door closing behind them is something I should be used to now. People leave. They leave through that door and so far they keep coming back. What will happen the day they won't? Is Chris coming back? His baby will be born soon. The Hales are even planning to move to the Hamptons to be with their daughter and soon to be grandchild. Is Christmas coming back?

Christopher's POV
Coming home...

There's nothing that can top this feeling right here. As the humvee came to a stop outside the place I have called home for a while, I bid the driver goodbye.
