Chapter 43: Basketball League

He was so scary, I was so scared but he turned into a protector and I was so willing to be protected by him.

Hindi ko alam kung anong nasa puso ko at kung bakit ba ganito ang desisyon ng utak ko. By what he did, he turned into a whole monster in front of my eyes but I was so quick to change my perspective that he is actually a safe haven when he put me in his arms..

"Allison, pupunta na akong gym. Are you sure you're okay? Dadalhin kita sa clinic," Na balik ako sa huwisyo ng marinig ang boses ni Ethan.

"Ah wala wala. Ano nga kasi yung kinukwento mo?" I asked. I was so occupied that I forgot we are talking about something, kanina pa pala lumulutang ang utak ko.

"I said that coach is worrying about Lucas health. Yes he was granted pero parang wala siyang pake sa kondisyon niya. Coach talked to his father, hindi lang ako makapaniwala sa sinabi ng papa niya,"

Lucas' name is already so engaging to talk about when but hearing about his father and what is happening to him right now made me even more engaged.

"Anong sabi ng papa niya? And why are you worrying about his health?" I asked.

"May hika si Lucas, he is not allowed to join without parents consent but his father agreed because according to him, he has no control of his child's life, wala siyang magagawa kung hindi ang umoo na lang din."

That is not how his father is, hindi ganon ang kinwento niya sa akin.

Maya maya pa ay umalis na si Ethan. Napaisip tuloy ako, ano ang totoo?

Tapos may hika pa siya, kagaya ko...

That information brings back the moment when we are at the orphanage. Bakit niya piniling palitan ako kung pareho naman pala kami ng sitwasyon? He didn't run just once but twice because i can't, he even played with kids. Delikado ang hika pag dala dala mo hanggang pagtanda, umiinom siya, naninigarilyo, what's wrong with that guy? Sawa na ba siya sa buhay niya?

And the day of the championship came...

"Will he be okay?" Tinitigan ako ni Ethan bago siya sumagot.

"Okay lang naman siya sa mga nakaraang laban, sana maging okay lang siya since today is finals and we really need him." Wika nito bago umiwas ng tingin.

I look at lucas who is now warming up. Ilang minuto lang ay sumabay na din si Ethan sakanila. Ngayon lang kami pinayagan manood dahil championship na nga. I'm glad they let the officers dahil kung hindi ay hindi ko matutupad ang pangako ko kay Ethan na manunuod ako ng laban niya.

but is he really the one i'll be watching? yung atensyon ko nasa isa lang. Don't get me wrong, I am just worried.

Maingay na ang gymnasium, girls are shouting names and even though we are at another school, matunog pa rin ang mga pangalan ng galing sa school namin.

Ethan prepared me a seat but instead of sitting, i chose to stand up beside the coach.

"Mukhang mas kinakabahan ka pa sa akin ha? You should just chill and enjoy, Ethan won't fail you, he will do great for sure." coach said.

Ngumiti ako, that's for sure but they have someone on the team who shouldn't be on the team in the first place, baka mapahamak siya.

"How about lucas, paano po kapag inatake siya? " Nakita kong nagulat ito sa tinanong ko, did i say somethin wrong? Or was it prohibited to know lucas' situation?

"Siya pala ang iniisip mo..." Makahulugang sabi nito. "That guy is quiet competitive, hindi ko alam kung anong pinaglalaban niya. His name, along with ethan, stands out the most in our team which is unexpected. It's both a good thing and a bad thing."
