Park Sandara

“See you later, noona!” Daesung waved as he walked with Jiyong and Seungri to their respective classes. Seungri gave me a wink, earning a glare from Jiyong. I smiled and waved back at them and Jiyong gave me a small but warm smile in return. I blushed and looked away, only to be greeted by CL’s and Bom’s teasing looks.

“Dara-unnie . . .” CL said in a sing-song tone, her smile mischievous.

“Kekeke, I saw that one,” Bom chirped, his eyes twinkling. “Gosh! I never thought that cold dragon looks so adorable when he smiles!”

I pouted, trying to hide the sudden twinge of giddiness. That smile was for me—

“Oh look, ssantokki-ya, you’re blushing!” Bom squealed and pinched my cheeks.

“Ouch!” I yelped in pain. “Bommie!”

“Whoops,” she frowned, remembering what happened to me. “Sorry!”

“C’mon, ladies, we’ll be late for class,” CL chuckled. “But hmm, that cold cousin of mine really looks cute when he smiles. And I wonder who’s the reason behind it . . .” she trailed off, grinning at me.

“CL!” I wailed, my cheeks reddening again.

The two laughed before linking their arms around mine as we walked to class.

After class, the three of us proceeded to the cafeteria and bought our food. We sat at the table we’d first occupied during our first day of classes.

“By the way, I heard there’s a new student here at YGU,” Bom said, munching on her bread.

“That’s the buzz around here,” CL agreed. “I wonder who that student is. And anyway, how come he or she was able to enroll? It’s been, like, several months after the first day.”

“He’s actually my classmate at my first class today,” I told them. “His name’s Kim Jaejoong.”

CL froze in her seat. “Did you . . . did you just say Kim Jaejoong?” she gasped.

“Why, Chae?” Bom asked worriedly. “You . . . you know him?”

“Dara-unnie,” CL asked me, ignoring Bom’s questions, “Are you sure it’s Kim Jaejoong?”

“Y-yeah,” I answered her, suddenly anxious. Why was CL reacting this way? Even Daesung, Seungri and Jiyong . . .

As if to support what I said, Jaejoong entered the cafeteria, the girls squealing giddily when they saw him. Bom was one of them. CL, however, narrowed her eyes as she stared at him. Jaejoong didn’t proceed to buy his food; instead he was walking towards us, a small smirk on his face. I was frozen on my seat—there was something in his eyes that made me react that way.

“You must be Park Sandara,” he said, his voice dark and husky. “It’s such a pleasure to know you. Oh, hello there CL.”

CL glared at him while a gasp escaped my lips. “How . . . how did you know my name?” I found myself asking.

His lips twitched while I saw something darken his eyes. “Oh . . . I asked around Sandara-ssi. You’re quite known here, I gather.”

“What are you trying to do, Kim Jaejoong?” CL asked him icily.

Jaejoong tilted his face and smiled at her devilishly. “Oh, nothing CL. I just wanted to talk with her, is that so wrong?”

CL narrowed her eyes at him, her face hard. But before CL could retort back, a sudden silence enveloped the cafeteria. Jaejoong, as if sensing the reason behind it, laughed softly and darkly before he turned away from us and went out using the other exit.
