i'm having writers block. like it's bad.
"i'm headed back to the tent." i placed my cup down in front of teppei and stood up, walking away from the table. it was approaching nightfall.
i didn't go back to the tent.
instead, i found myself sitting underneath an old oak tree, admiring the sun that was slowly sinking under the horizon, allowing the moon to take its place soon.
"i thought you were going back to the tent." i looked up to see kazuha, looking down at me and smiling. he held an empty teacup in his hand. i tilted my head to the side, patting the grass next to me. he sat down and sighed.
there was a comfortable silence between us. the view as stunning. dendrobiums swayed softly with the calm breeze that found its way from between the leaves of the oak tree. the grass softly tickled at our legs as we sat in it.
"what are we?" kazuha blurted out. i snapped my head to look at him, and he looked embarrassed. kazuha rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged.
"i don't know. what should we be?" i questioned him back, bringing my knees up to my chest and wrapping my arms around them.
"together."
i felt my cheeks burn up. i wanted that, but i didn't know how to approach it or talk about it at all.
"i.." i began, but quickly trailed off, thinking of what to say. kazuha hopefully looked over at me. i stared at a nearby dendrobium. it just sat there, slowly dancing with the wind.
"i would like that." i beamed as i looked up at kazuha. he rested a hand on my cheek, placing a soft kiss on my opposite cheek.
"alright then. it's us against the world." kazuha gently snaked his arm around my shoulder.
"you're cringey sometimes." i grinned as i placed my head on his shoulder.
we sat in a now comfortable silence, watching the sun have its last few moments in the sky, before the sky was shrouded in darkness. the only light source was the moon and the stars that had dotted the sky beautifully.
eventually, i began feeling tired, so i went to stand, but kazuha pulled me back down. "stay here."
"i'm tired. i don't feel like getting eaten alive by bugs just to sleep under the stars. come on." i somehow wriggled out of his grasp, waiting for him to stand. kazuha walked close beside me, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. we made it back to the tent, peeling the flap open and crawling inside.
i extended the bedroll to the best of my abilities, using my cape to extend it further aswell. i lay down, turning to face the wall of the tent. kazuha sat down next to me, glancing over.
"you okay?" he questioned as he lay down. "o-oh, sorry. i always sleep facing the roof or the wall." i chuckled as i turned to face him.
he was beautiful. he had fully let his hair down, it lay around his shoulders in a heap of mess. kazuha turned to face me.
"hi."
"hello there."
"enjoy what you see?"
"shut up." i pushed his shoulder slightly before placing my head near his shoulder. i felt his arm slither around my waist as he pulled me in closer.
it was silent. all that could be heard was the quiet chirping from birds and buzzing from insects.
eventually, i felt my eyes grow heavier as i took one last look around the tent.
the world grew dark as i fell into a slumber.
