𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙏𝙬𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙮 𝙉𝙞𝙣𝙚

"hey, what took you so long, are you alright?!" kazuha leaped off of the cart to assist y/n. they looked to be shaken up by something that occurred. he should've went with them.

"i'm fine, just get me out of this place." they shuddered as kazuha helped them onto the back of the cart. they slowly began their journey to the wangshu inn once more.

alatus watched from the tree line as they left in that cart. his mask was fixed deeply onto his face.

"it won't be long until we meet again, y/n." he whispered as darkness enveloped alatus once more, becoming but a small memory in xiao's mind once more.

"what happened back there, y/n?" kazuha questioned as he folded up a cloth and placed it on the desk of the room we had rented out for ourselves. i sat on the edge of the bed, my leg bouncing as i still interpreted what had happened earlier.

i turned to kazuha, who was now sitting next to me. "alatus."

"what? make sense, y/n."

i explained what had happened between xiao, or alatus, and i.

"i know of that name. it's familiar." kazuha sighed as he held his head, deep in thought. "you could go to the book house tomorrow and research it. i'd go with you, but beidou needs the crew back at the alcor for something. i'm sorry." kazuha planted a kiss on my forehead, before standing up and walking into the other room, most likely to get ready to sleep.

i stood up, fixing the covers. i glanced out the window, the moon glistening in the sky. i wandered over to the window, leaning my arms against it as i admired the sky. i felt arms slither around my waist.

"are you genuinely okay?" kazuha mumbled as he buried his head into my neck. i tilted my head to the side, smiling as i reached my arm around and patted his head. "better that you're here."

"look whose being cringey now."

"shut up."

we stood at the window, admiring the moon for a while, until i eventually felt kazuha shift his entire body weight onto me. did this bitch really pass out ontop of me.

i turned around, placing my hands on his chest and pushing him slightly so he wouldn't topple over on me. i pushed him over onto the bed, tucking him under the covers before placing a small peck on his cheek.

i crawled in beside him, quickly falling asleep when my head hit the pillow.

y/n awoke from her sleeping position in the woods.

"mama..?" they called out for their mother, quickly realised they weren't in the estate anymore. y/n slowly stood from their sitting position, stumbling in the direction of the estate.

from the tree line, y/n could see smoke emitting from beyond the walls of the estate. they felt their heart drop as they realised that the estate went up in flames. guards were patrolling around, as some people conversed at the gates.

"the entire family disappeared. we don't know what happened but it was said an unusual man claiming to be a guard was let in. he probably burned down the estate."
