13. Makoto's birthday

With the monotony of school and practice schedules, time flew by, autumn rolling in, chilling the air, turning the greens into yellow and red.

Under the harsh regimens installed by their forever attentive manager and trainer, the Iwatobi swim club didn't even feel the pass of time and the change in season, only their exhaustion growing as the two girls intensified their training, knowing that soon they won't be able to swim in their pool anymore.

Their practice slowly rolled to a stop, the guys slowly crawling out of the pool, onto the cooling concrete.

"Alright guys, I think we tortured you enough for the day. Go take your showers and get ready." Said Nayna looking down at the breathless humps sprawled by the pool, getting barely groans in response. "I think we went a bit too hard on them..." Said Nayna to the other female who walked beside her with her clipboard in hand.

"But they needed it. It's the last few days they can swim so we have to take advantage of it as much as we can." Said Gou pumping a fist in the air.

"Yeah...Maybe...But seeing them crawl like this...Is kind of pathetic..." Said the white haired girl looking at the slouched form of the males, slowly walking towards the locker room.

"They'll be fine. You saw my brother. He has an even harsher regimen and I never saw him crawl like this..."

"Yeah, I did saw your brother, and I don't deny that he is in a very good shape but I think he made his regimen harder progressively, not all at once..."

"They'll get to rest over the winter. Though, we have to find a solution so we can train during the winter too. We need an indoor pool!"

"I doubt you heard a single thing I said." Sighed Nayna.

"Oh, by the way, today is Makoto-senpai's birthday. We were planning a party for him. You are invited too, of course, but we really need some help with the decoration and food."

"Sure, I'll help. So at Haru's house?" She asked amused.

"Yeah, today at 6. I'll talk to onii-chan too. Maybe he can come too."

"I'll talk to him. I'll have to pass by his dorm anyway to give him back his jersey."

"Why did you get his jersey?" Wondered Gou suspiciously.

"We've been jogging and it started raining during our run so he lended it to me." Shrugged Nayna. "Anyway, I'll talk to you later what I managed with that brother of yours."

"A-Alright..." Mumbled Gou looking at her a bit confused.

The white haired girl left the school grounds, making her way towards the Samezuka academy. As she announced her presence at the entrance and went in, she made her way to the dorms.

Once in front of the door, she was about to knock when she heard some noises from inside, followed by something falling and Rin cursing.

She softly knocked before opening the door, not waiting for an answer only to see Rin kneeling on the floor, surrounded by books and stuff.

"Bad moment?" She asked amused , crouching down by a stack of notebooks that fell against the door, helping him gather them.

"No. I'm just cleaning some stuff out...Sorry for the mess." Muttered Rin, scratching the back of his neck annoyed before turning to her to get the notebooks she just gathered. "What are you doing here anyway?"

"Oh, right." She said turning her attention to her bag, pulling out his black jersey, neatly folded, handing it to him. "I came to give this back to you."
