27.Growing into it

The next morning, as she woke up to walk Link, she picked up her phone as she was going out, only to feel it vibrate. Looking at the screen, she saw a message from Rin.

Rin:[Good morning, beautiful. Care to join me for a morning jog?]

She smiled at the text, the little 'beautiful' sneaked in there making her stir inside.

Nayna:[Sure. I'm taking Link to the park anyway.] She texted back before putting her phone in her pocket and started running with Link

Rin:[I'm in the park. I'll wait for you.]

She chuckled as she read the text before putting her phone away, starting to jog with Link beside her, making their way towards the park. As she approached it, she started to look around for the redhead only to bump into someone.

"Funny how we always end up meeting like this." Laughed Rin catching her.

"Sorry..." She grinned shyly looking up at him only to see him softly smile at her. A smile she didn't see on his face before. She could feel her face heat up though she quickly shook her head.

As they started to run again, Link running ahead of them, stopping from time to time to sniff a thing or another.

"Last 100 sprint?" Asked Nayna looking at Rin with a smirk.

"Winner gets a prize?" He asked grinning at her.

"There always has to be a prize for you, isn't it?"

"It's more interesting that way."

"Fine. You'll buy me an ice tea then." She grinned.

"Cocky as always huh? So sure that you win?"

"From what I can recall, I always won."

"Maybe I let you win." He said as he sprinted ahead, she too.

Upon reaching their usual stop, Nayna was flabbergasted to find herself the loser of their race.

"See...Told you..." Heaved Rin, barely breathing.

"Y-You just pushed yourself too much, you idiot. You look like you'll pass out any moment." She said incredulous, making her way to him, placing her hands on both sides of his head, looking at him, making sure that he was actually fine muttering another 'idiot' under her breath. She gasped when he suddenly lunged forward, grabbing her waist and capturing her lips into a soft kiss.

"Now I got my prize." He said with a wide grin as he broke the kiss.

Nayna looked up at him surprised before shaking her head amused.

"You cheesy asshole." She chuckled.

He chuckled too before letting out an heavy sigh.

"Man, but I really over did it." He said leaning back, letting his body fall on the bench there.

"Keh, you don't have to over do yourself for that you know." She said looking away.

"Hm?"

"I mean... I don't mind..." She muttered.

Rin looked at her, confused at first, then his eyes grew wide as he realized what she was referring to.

"Anyway." She said suddenly, shaking her head. "We should go." She said calling Link to her.

"I'll walk you home." He said getting up, still taking a sip from his water.

"It's fine, Red. It's daytime, I have Link and you might pass out soon. Go, have some breakfast." She said amused.
