25.The Butterfly of Farewell!

A few days passed and everyone got excited for the Iwatobi school festival.

"What's the big deal about this?" Asked Nayna, not that curious.

"In this festival we race against every other club in school. If we win this we'll surely attract new members." Said Gou.

"Aha... If you say." Said Nayna uninterested.

Even though they won even this race, no new member came.

"Even if no new member showed up, starting today, the pool is open again." Said Makoto and everyone went out. "Let's shift gears and focus on training for prefecturals. Everyone, be sure to warm-up thoroughly. The water is still pretty cold." He said catching Haru before he could jump into the water so he could still hear what he had to say.

"And though there is still time before we have to submit our tournament entry... Aside from our individual events, there's..."

"Medley Relay!" Shouted the others happily.

"Thought so." Said Makoto smiling before looking at Haru. "What do you think, Haru?"

"I only swim freestyle and relay." He said looking over his shoulder at them before turning his gaze back to the water while everyone else cheered.

"So, we're in the relay then. For individual events we'll each chose our own before the entry date. As for me, since it's my last year, I think I'll try entering the freestyle too."

"Really? Then maybe I'll try racing butterfly too." Said Nagisa.

"Isn't butterfly your worst stroke?" Asked Makoto amused.

"This is really exciting somehow." Said the blonde. "Hey, Rei-chan, why don't you try entering the breaststroke?"

"Never-mind that. I still can only swim butterfly!"

"Wha- Don't say it like that!" Said Nagisa headbutting his shoulder. "You're not the same Rei-chan you were back then. I bet at this point you can swim whatever stroke you want!"

"You think so?"

"That's true. After all, you study swimming everyday." Said Gou thinking.

"I guess it would be possible, at least... But ever since-" Said Rei unsure.

"But now that you can swim, I bet your backstroke would be beautiful, Rei." Said Makoto.

"All right, then! I shall present a beautiful backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle stroke to all of you!" Said Rei excited.

"It's all fun and games but I gotta run. Sorry guys." Said Nayna picking up her things and leaving.

"Don't leave when we just begun!" Shouted Gou after her. "Ugh! What's up with her?" She pouted.

"I'm sure she will tell us when she's ready, and when they'll act on it." Said Makoto amused.

"What do you mean Makoto-senpai? Asked Gou looking at him.

"Nevermind. Let's go." He said

Rin and Sousuke were watching over the team's training.

"So, did you called her yet?" Asked Sousuke.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Wondered Rin acting preoccupied.

"Your girlfriend, who else?"Teased his friend looking at him with a knowing smirk.

"Huh!? She- she's not my-" Stuttered Rin.
