A few days later, after the sun already set, Rin was still in the pool, doing lap after lap, stopping from time to time to drink sone water from his bottle he left strategically by the starting block.
During one of his laps, as he swam, he heard splashing, sign that someone else just dived into the pool. He tried to forget about them and continue his swimming but when he saw the stranger pass him in the lane next to his he swam faster, not wanting to lose. As they both made their turn, he saw the other person push from the wall and spin, their dolphin kick strong and fluid, taking them further than his.
His inner self grinned at his combatant as he started to drive through the water faster, both reaching the end of the pool and surfacing.
"I never get tired of seeing you swim." He said between breaths as he pulled off his cap and goggles, looking in the other lane as the other person took off their cap and goggles too, white haired cascading down their back as crimson eyes turned to him.
"Likewise, Red." Said Nayna with a smile. "Isn't it a bit late? You should go get some rest."
"Tsk. I'm fine." He grumbled, passing from his lane into hers, his hands going around her waist pulling her closer as he leaned down, kissing her softly but slowly, the kiss got more intense as he trapped her between his body and the side of the pool, his lips going lower to her neck and shoulder.
His hand took a hold of her thighs, nudging her to put them around his hips. She complied, hooking her heels around him.
"You're distracting me from my practice. That's a very bad thing to do. What do you have to say in your defense?" He asked, smirking against her skin, his sharp teeth grazing her pulse.
"Your practice was over 3 hours ago." She said amused only to gasp when he bit down on her neck, his teeth piercing her skin.
He, teasingly, sucked and licked the little wound he just inflicted before he detached his lips from her neck, admiring his masterpiece.
"Wrong answer." He purred.
"Rin! You can't give me a hickey! Others will see." She said a bit annoyed as she touched her neck.
"Good." He smirked, pecking her lips. "They should know not to get any ideas."
"You're impossible, you know?" She said rolling her eyes. "Anyway, I came here to talk to you, not go for a round in the pool."
"You weren't exactly complaining a second ago." He grinned only for her to splash him.
"Which head of yours is talking right now?" She asked amused with a raised brow as she pushed herself out of the water, getting her towel.
"Tsk. So what did you wanna talk about?" He asked as he got out too.
"Well...I just wanted to tell you that I'll be away for about two weeks."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"I gotta do little trip to the states..."
"What?! Why?" He asked worried.
"Family matters... I just wanted to give you a heads-up."
"When are you leaving?" He asked disappointed.
"Don't pout. The day after tomorrow."
"Two weeks... That means-"
"I'll be back before the preliminaries, don't worry. I would never miss your races." She said amused.
Sighing, he made his way to her, pulling her against him unto a warm hug, taking the girl by surprise.
"I'm gonna miss you." He mumbled.
