52.Passing lines

Next morning, Rin woke up fresh and ready for the new week. Looking beside him, Nayna was still asleep, curled up into her covers. With a soft smile, Rin leaned closer to her.

"Good morning, sweetheart. Time to get up." He said softly tracing her cheek with the back of his fingers.

"Mh, one more hour." She grumbled, covering her head with her sheets making Rin chuckle.

"Still tired, babe?" He asked amused.

"I don't know how you aren't." He heard her muffled voice from under the covers.

"Stamina of an athlete, baby. You should have expected that." He grinned, shrugging his shoulders, only to jump back when she jolted up, right into his face.

"Ten rounds, Rin!? And I barely managed to stop you at ten. You looked like you could go for another ten." She said incredulous.

"Eleven actually. When you fell asleep I went to the bathroom and..." He said, completing his sentence, motioning with his fist up and down before he shrugged his shoulder only for Nayna to hit him with a pillow, smacking him back down on the mattress, Rin taking it with laughter.

"You're crazy!" She grumbled getting up and going into the bathroom.

"Love you too!" He said from under the pillow before he got up.

When Nayna came out of the bathroom she was surprised to see her bed made and a delicious smell coming from downstairs. She made her way down to the kitchen, stepping beside Rin to see what he was making.

"Bacon and eggs?" She asked surprised.

"You don't like it?"

"I do. But I thought that after a race and... Other physical activities you would prefer something more drastic."

"Hm?" He hummed as he put the eggs on a plate. "Like what?" He asked looking at her as he gave her the plate, she giving him another one.

She only shrugged before going to the table, sitting down with a sigh, he following behind.

"Sore?" He asked a bit amused only for her to hit him under the table. "Ow." He laughed.

After breakfast, they went to Samezuka so Rin could change so they could go out. Once in his room, Rin suddenly remembered something, his eyes looking down in worry and disappointed.

"Babe... You know you can talk to me about anything, right?" He said suddenly.

"Yeah, I know." She said not really paying attention.

"There's barely anything that could actually get me mad at you, alright? Even less to break up."

"Ok, what's up? What the hell is it with you lately?"

"I know you are lying to me." He said quickly, missing the way Nayna's eyes widened. "I don't know about what but I know there is something."

"What gave you that idea?"

"It doesn't matter." He said shaking his head.

"It was Sousuke, wasn't it? He filled your head with this as well as he always fed you information about me." She said in a calm tone. Scarily calm.

"You can't blame me for asking you, Nayna! I see you meeting in secret with him and talking behind my back... You can't blame me for-" He said only for her to stop him.

"What did he tell you?"

"I... It's not..." He muttered, stopping, not knowing what to say and not to throw his friend under the bus.
