21. Captain Matsuoka

It was the start of the new school year, The Iwatobi swim team met in front of Samezuka Academy as they were invited to the send-off event of the third-year members.

Nayna and Gou stood impatiently by the gate when finally they saw the guys.

"Finally! Where have you been!?" Scolded Gou.

"Leave that.We're already late! Let's go." Said Nayna turning and walking into the school.

"You seem eager to go in." Said Gou as she walked beside her, looking at the other girl slyly. "Can't wait to see muscly guys?"

"Yeah, couldn't wait." Said Nayna rolling her eyes. "I just don't like being late." She grumbled annoyed.

Once inside the pool area, they saw a bunch of the guys literally crawling around.

"This is the third-years' send-off race?" Asked Makoto looking around.

"Seems like it."

"Looks like a vicious battle." Mumbled Makoto disturbed.

"What kind of harrowing race is it?" Asked Nagisa looking at the pool excited.

"A 100m race, 100 times." Came a voice to their left. "It's a Samezuka tradition to continue until someone beats the captain."

Looking over, they saw Rin in his swimsuit, his toned torso partially covered by his open jersey.

"Hey, thanks for coming." He said with a smile.

"I like those traditions." Grinned Nayna looking at the pool.

"Have you raced him yet, Rin-chan?" Asked Nagisa.

"No, not yet."

"Scared?" Asked Nayna amused.

"As if." He said leaning to her level.

"You're not a long haul type so I doubt you'll last." Grinned Nayna looking at Rin teasingly.

"Hmm? I might surprise you how much I can last." He purred, giving her a toothy grin.

"Are we still talking about the same thing?" She asked, trying to hide her embarrassment with wit, getting Rin's attention again, making him rethink his words.

"But logically speaking, racing 100 meters 100 times can't be possible." Said Rei.

"Captain Mikoshiba defies logic." Said Rin with a shrug.

"I see..."

"Hey! You guys came to watch too?" Said the captain approaching the group. "How about a race to mark the occasion?"

"Who, us?" Said Makoto worried.

"But we're not even on your team." Said Rei trying to save them.

"Don't be shy. Let's go, Samezuka versus Iwatobi, 400m freestyle medley relay! Matsuoka, you're swimming in this one!"

"Sure." Said Rin looking at his captain.

"This should be fun." Said Nayna amused.

"Who else wants in?" Asked Mikoshiba.

"Me!" Came Nitori ignoring the 'massacre' around him.

"W-wait a second." Said Makoto nervously.

"We already told you, we don't..." Said Rei only to see Haru already undressing.

"Ugh, come on, you guys, don't we wusses. Go." Said Nayna head-slapping the two taller guys.

"It's easy for you to talk! You're not in this!" Said Rei annoyed.
